Beautiful place to stay and enjoy the country , not to mention the opportunity to see the baby kangaroos and wallabies regaining their strength in the refuge. Charmingly hosted by Harry with his gorgeous breakfast hamper of freshly baked bread each morning!

We stayed in Stringy Bark Lodge for two nights in late August. This architecturally designed environmentally friendly lodge is set amongst the bush thereby allowing kangaroo and bird-life to be viewed from the window seats in each lodge. Wood fire, comfortable beds, double french doors which open out onto the BBQ patio, complimentary port, freshly baked bread and jam delivered... More

We stayed at Aquila for two nights in May and from the minute we arrived we knew we'd found a special place. The loft houses was perfect for a weekend getaway. Light the fire, pour yourself some of Harry's complimentary port and soak up the natural beauty of the place amongst the trees. It's so cosy and you can't help... More

Jaw dropping scenery and beautiful wildlife plus a roaring wood fire and artisan bread await you at the Aquila Eco Lodge. In this 'Queen's Birthday' weekend we packed in a hike up Mount Abrupt, a very brief trip to Halls Gap, the micro tourist city of bobble hat wearing folk, and dropped down en route home to Melbourne to visit... We stayed for 2 nights over the weekend for our Wedding Anniversary and were in the Cherry Tree Treehouse. The views of the bush out the lounge (second storey) and bedroom (third storey) were absolutely beautiful. The house itself was great. Extremely clean, bed and day beds along lounge windows were very comfy. The fire was a little hard to... More

We stayed for 3 nights and were greeted by the owner's son who was looking after the property whilst they were away. David was really welcoming and kind but was understandably a little less versed on all the walks / eateries in the area. The place was surprisingly warm given the only heating was from one wood stove . The... More

We originally planned to book the lofthouse but decided against this as we will be travelling with an infant and the layout of the house would not be very convenient. Liasing however with David has been a breeze and he has been very prompt and helpful with every enquiry, going to lengths such as taking photographs of the house. Such... More

Wonderful hosts who supplied everything we needed. Harry makes the best bread delivered hot & steaming each morning (different each time) Also at the base of some of the best mountains to climb. Not far from Halls Gap also for a day outing. Thank you Iwona & Harry for a lovely 4 days.

We were intending to stay one night and ended up booking for two - we could not face heading back to Melbourne! Harry the owner is absolutely delightful. He is incredibly helpful and knowledgable about the area and its local wildlife. Harry has a kangaroo and wallaby sanctuary onsite and will happily show you around - we were privileged to... More

Very hospitable host (Harry) and a lovely, clean, spacious lodge. Breakfast was amazing and the daily fresh bread was such a treat. Loved sitting inside by the fire on the crisp mornings while watching the wildlife outside. Thanks Harry for a wonderful stay.
