From the minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, Frank and all the other staff were so friendly and inviting. The hotel itself and the surroundings are gorgeous, and the room and bed were so comfortable we couldn't get out of bed in time for breakfast. Thank you so much for upgrading us too, our stay was...

Excellent welcome. The food was great. All staff were very accommodating indeed. Asked for an early breakfast which was no problem. Frank the manager was extremely helpful. Highly recommend this place.

Even though the exterior aspect of this hotel is glorious, it is unassuming and unpretentious and absolutely what we were after. Considering we were staying in Machynlleth for what must be its absolute peak period (Comedy Festival) the rate was completely reasonable. Given the visitor numbers I am guessing they could get away with charging considerably more. (Please don't: we...

Lovely grounds, and area. We got a room in the annex, which houses 4 unbelievably ugly rooms. Mismatched flowery wall paper, with pink walls and pink sanitary. You can hear every word said in the next room. Advertises restaurant, but the owner forgot to tell us it was shut when we were there, despite booking only a week in advance....

Firstly, a huge thank you to you as you have proved me right. From the minute you stepped into the hotel you had a snooty attitude, looking down your nose at myself and my staff. When you booked over the phone with myself the week before, I informed you that due to the Comedy Festival we were very busy and...

Myself and my fiancé are both getting married at Plas Dolguog September 2017. We chose this venue early January 2016 , it is a hidden gem. Stunning views, full of character and just out the way of the small town Machynlleth. We loved the beautiful gardens and although it is a majestic early century house it has a wonderful relaxed...

What an unexpected pleasure. Grandmas Garden is such a splendid suprise and an ideal retreat from the rat race.... but i dont want to give away any secrets. The manager, Frank, is very proactive in addressing any issues and is the heart of the hotel with his down to earth humour and sarcastic wit. In fact all of the staff...

We stayed at the hotel for one night as we had done a charity zipline during the day, and had booked to visit King Arthur's Labyrinth the following day. I'd booked a family toom for 2 adults and 3 children. When we arrived the room wasn't quite ready as additional beds needed to be set up, but the staff are...

We're booked in to stay for a week in July and thought we'd pay a visit beforehand and have Sunday Lunch. It was excellent, as it should be. Generous portions for all three courses and for £15 absolutely brilliant. Staff were cheerful, polite and attentive without being intrusive. Beautiful setting and we look forward to our July visit, though we...

Off the beaten track but well worth the drive. We stayed for one night. Breakfast was very good - my poached eggs were perfect! Staff were welcoming and polite and not in your face. Our room had a balcony overlooking the hills, and the bed was really comfortable. All in all a clean and welcoming hotel. Would go back when...
