We visited for a night so that my wife could wake up somewhere spectacular for her birthday and this hotel did not disappoint. We booked one of the newer lake view rooms which have a balcony and fantastic lake view. The light on the lake/reservoir kept changing and with the

Afternoon coffee with biscuits for 2. £5.90. Considering the view & ambience & setting & comfort this was an absolute bargain. Lovely, old style hotel with attentive staff. Very comfortable guest areas. Would love to stay for several nights but accommodation costs are

The hotel with breakfast and evening meal was booked as a birthday surprise for my wife over the weekend. I’ve often been tempted by the hotel due to its location and as it’s not too far from home making one night ‘doable’. The hotel is very nice. The reception area is warm and

This hotel has the best view and I could look at it all day. The bar area and outdoor balcony are wonderful. The hotel could do with some updating. The rooms are good in size, but not in décor. The food was not good and my pheasant was not just undercooked, it was raw. I

A pity the fabric of this hotel doesn’t match its view. Some investment, TLC and imagination would make so much difference. It was raining while we were there and water was coming through the window in the lounge in 3 places and puddling on the window seat below. The leather

Are there any mini fridges in the rooms?
We had a premier lake view room, room 3 I think, and that didn't have one.

Yes, they have dog friendly rooms. They give you a stuffed dog (Toy) to hang on your door handle If you leave your dog unattended in your room. I think dogs are allowed in the bar too, however, we didn't take our in as he was too shattered after his walks. We had a lovely room with balcony over looking the lake. Hope this helps.

Three course dinners are included both nights. The foods good but beware the brasserie is like a high Street pub. Anyone can use it and you can be tabled next to folk dressed for performing ground work, mid, dirt, etc. The first night eating in the main restaurant is very good. Second night in the brasseries is dreadful. Sad thing is, nobody from the hotel follow up any complaints, comments and reviews.
