I stayed at The Star the night before a mountain biking event and was very impressed by the hosts, the bar /restaurant and my room. Nothing was too much trouble for them (one of them stayed up late for a tardy guest) and they very kindly let me keep my bike indoors. Food was very good, especially given how busy...

We had a lovely one night stay here. A warm welcome for the new owner Gareth and a blazing fire. The last time were were here a few years ago it was a bit dour to say the least. Now it is nicely decorated, clean and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and recently refurbished to a very professional standard. Gareth...

Was very surprised by how good this small inn was, primarily due to the extraordinary efforts of the owners to turn this place round. The bar was super cosy, and served decent meals. The Accomodation was excellent for the price. But it was the attitude of the management team that separates this place, such as making an excellent breakfast for...

We arrived on a very wet day, great welcome, good drying room, lovely room, very good heating system. We enjoyed a pre dinner drink in front of the open fire, which went down very nicely. We had a delicious dinner in the bar full of friendly locals, and very pleasant evening. Breakfast ticked all our boxes, nothing too much trouble!...

A group of us had lunch here on Friday - even though the new owners had only had the place for five days, they couldn't have been more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and they put on a lovely lunch for us. The pool table was going in, the beer will be on tap soon and The Star will...

Stayed one night on our Cambrian Way walk. We arrived earlier then expected but were give a warm welcome. Tea and cake were proffered (delicious!). Our rooms were very appointed and most comfortable and quiet. Meals were a highlight (a good range of vegetarian and fish options). The common rooms were most inviting and Louise, our host, was most welcoming!...

Dylife is an isolated hamlet on the moors north of Plymlimon. We got there on foot, on the Glyndwr's Way walking route. Despite us arriving early, Louise made us welcome with a pot of tea and slice of cake. The residents' lounge is the old bar of the former pub, now run as a retreat centre as well as a...

Stayed for one night when walking the Glyndwr's Way. We were greeted with a pot of tea and chocolate cake then shown to our room whilst a fire was lit in the bar for us. Rooms were fantastic - recently renovated with high quality linen and towels. Our double was in fact 2 singles zipped together - huge! We ate...

The welcome, food, rooms, building and area are all stunning! The rooms alone well surpass what you would expect from a B&B and all the bedding and towels are organic and feel like luxury on your skin. What a little gem of a place! I will be back again sometime very soon!

The Star Inn has been modernized in the last 2 years and is now a comfortable friendly place to stay. Made to feel very welcome by Louise - the owner. Great food - especially the apple and sultana crumble. Would definitely go again.
