Staff were pleasant and helpful, room was comfortable and clean, Wifi was ok although it timed out after a few hours and I had to log back in? My major gripe was that there is no proper Restaurant on Site, which meant that I had to drive into Newport.
I'd read some terrible reviews of this so I wanted to set out my own views. The staff were pleasant and the room was clean. We did walk in to it being quite hot as the heating had been on full blast, but we turned it off and it was fine after a bit. The shower worked, there were enough towels, and the beds were comfy enough (we needed the sofabed). It's not a posh hotel, but nor does it claim to be. It did the job for our one night. The next morning we went to the service station for some coffee and breakfast before hitting the road again. The free parking was sorted for us by the staff so we didn't have any jobs to do before we left. If I was in the area again I could return.
The staff were very helpful and accomodating, when something minor was wrong with our room, they moved us Rooms, since they had another available. The rooms are good, clean, warm and very spacious. The baths could be bigger as they are short in length and very shallow. I would also be better if their were more plug sockets in the rooms, specifically by the bed. Overall very good stay.
Very impressed with our stay, no complaints from our family of four. We all had a lovely stay there. We often stay at hotels on route for our family holidays and this hotel ticked all of the boxes. Comfortable stay
would not recommend anyone to stay here rooms were very dirty, floor boards creaky so could here everyone moving around doors slamming shut, windows were shocking and rubbish so could hear everything from outside
Came here for an overnight stay with my friend Rosie before we got pick up for a coach trip holiday. Very comfortable room with a very tasty cooked breakfast, hoping to return again soon, many thanks.
Highly recommended- calley was brilliant too. Would really recommend it as a last minute stay. There's plenty to eat and drink and the rooms are large compared to much more expensive places. It's the staff that really make it though
Awful staff (sue/sam) dirty hotel , rooms not been cleaned. Lady on desk flogging taxis wich let us down for sons 21st bday and then tried to.pin all the blame on our booking party. No remorse or apology absolute disgrace, once in a lifetime bday trip ruined
Booked in Monday to Friday as working in Chepstow for the week. Total room cost £438 for 4 nights, first impressions was it looked dirty from the outside, windows not been clean and dirty net curtains on the windows, entrance area mat dirty with rubbish and cigarette ends by the door. Booked in and got room 14 on the ground floor, walking down the corridor to the room you can smell its old and dated, once in the room i was shocked how dated it was, mattress was too small to fit the bed frame, lamp shades broken and dirty, bathroom dirty, bed frame dirty and had stains on it, both chairs dirty and had holes in them, did not sit in them, work area stained, TV not working correctly, free WIFI you have to log in and submit your personal details which I did not do. Once I returned from work about 2130, I turned on the shower to find out it was leaking and no water pressure, the hot tap in the sink moved and could only be turned on slightly so was pointless even using it. the noise from the car park in unbearable, constant noise from cars and people using the services, i had to have the window open as the room was hot and stuffy, no air con or fan in the room. Bed far too soft and sank into the middle, noise continued until about midnight then cars turned up and started playing music at full blast, the room above mine decided to come in at 0130 and proceeded to bang around and jump on the floor, it was that loud that the light shades were moving in the room, this lasted about an hour then started again about 0400 in the morning. I was up at 5 for work so in total i probably had about 2 hours sleep, this is unacceptable as i work 12 hours day. I packed all my belongings up this morning and will not be going back tonight or the rest of the week, how can they justify £438 for 4 nights its a absolute joke. Be aware do not stay here unless you have too.…
Good parking, friendly staff, basic amenities good - shower, tv, coffee making facilities in room. Entrance right next to services entrance so easy access to food/ drink 24/7. Room itself was tired and furniture looked old and worn. Ok for an overnight stay.
