Dave and Marilyn's warm welcome was the beginning of a thoroughly enjoyable three days. Plas Efenechtyd is tucked away on a peaceful hillside with lovely views of the Clwydian range. It's a small period house with lots of charm, decorated in restful colours, with comfortable bedrooms and smart en-suite bathrooms. Although utterly quiet, it's only two miles from Ruthin, a...

This lovely B&B feels perfectly secluded and is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills but is also only 5-10 minutes drive away from Ruthin with several choices for a good dinner. Our hosts were friendly, made us feel at ease and provided suggestions of places we could visit that were spot-on. They were happy to help in any way they could...

A warm welcome awaits from Dave and Marylin (and Molly the cat - and assorted chickens). Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Mein hosts were quite happy to recommend places to eat or visit - useful if you don't know the area. Breakfasts include freshly laid eggs and home made jams. Not easy to find but worth the effort. The...

From the moment we arrived Dave and Marilyn ensured that our stay in their home was everything we could want. Our room with lovely views of the garden and the Welsh hills beyond was very comfortable with a good bathroom . We were woken from a peaceful night's sleep by the smell of homemade bread drifting up the stairs. Breakfast...

My partner and I have just spent a wonderful weekend at Plas Efenechtyd. The cottage is beautiful and in a fabulous location. Our room was small but well equipped and very clean. The only downside, for us, was the communal breakfasting arrangements. We like to take our time over breakfast in a private, comfortable atmosphere and are not keen on...

I have just spent three nights at Plas Efenechtyd with two old friends from Michigan and found the accommodation excellent. The rooms were comfortable and warm, the breakfast was good with in particular their own free range eggs, home made jam and marmalade, and excellent bread. Dave and Marilyn are very friendly and welcoming. Peter J. Eccles

My husband, daughter and I have stayed with Dave and Marilyn 4 times in the last 3 years and every time we go we have a wonderful time. It's such a lovely place and Dave and Marilyn couldn't be friendlier or more accomodating. The food is always fresh, beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. It is very much out of...

I thought such places were only found in fairy tales, but this one was for real. It was extremely cold when we visited but it was warm and cosy inside the house. The owners were very friendly and knowledgable about the area and the local attractions. The bedroom was very comfortable and the breakfast was superb, especially the homemade bread.

We really enjoyed our stay last weekend, our three-year old daughter enjoyed collecting the eggs for breakfast, and the hosts are very friendly and very knowledgeable of stuff to do in the local area. Delicious home-made sausages for breakfast. Would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing to stay while exploring North Wales. Easy reach of...
