Well, due to wales just opening up to guests to travel within the Welsh boarders we took the opportunity to come up from South Wales to visit family after being away for over a year. The Holt Lodge popped up as a very reasonably priced place to stay and after a discussion with a staff member a very good room only deal was agreed for a family room. Although no meals could be served due to some of the Covid limitations this didn’t hinder us too much, and the fact that the bar was opened for us to consume a much missed draft pint (or two) more than made up for it (obviously taking the drinks away from the bar). The room was a little tired but still clean and comfortable and the staff were more than helpful and friendly- I actually think that we might have been the only people staying in the entire hotel at the time?? (So no other guest noise at all). Covid rules were fully explained and the one way system easily to follow. Checkin and checkout were a breeze and parking was absolutely not a problem 🙂 All round pleasant experience for a very reasonable price. 👍🏻

Stayed for a couple of nights as a key worker during lockdown rules in wales. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. They really made us feel welcome. The food was great and rooms comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place.

Awful staff, horrible and bad mannered. Bad receipt ion. Made guests feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Pubic hair found on tap in room 3. Covid markings unclear, left everyone unsafe . Should not remain open

From the photos and aspect of this hotel it looks like a great find with lots of outside space for enjoying nice weather. We stayed for 2 nights and unfortunately the rooms really let it down. Inside, the decor is dated, but we can live with that assuming that everything else was ok (it wasnt). I think the best way to review this is positives and negatives: Positives - Food was good, we had breakfast and dinner here and both were great and dinner was reasonably priced. - Covid measures, there was a one way route and hand sanitiser available Negatives - the room, it was old and dated and needs some tlc - noise, we had a room facing the road which was particularly noisy - noise, the room walls are clearly paper thin, you could heard the guests next door talking, moving and even turning light and power sockets on and off as if it was in your room! - noise, the plumbing was horrendously noisy (even from neighbouring rooms), if someone went to even turn a tap on in the night it would wake you up - Dirty, we had a dirty pillow and towels - some staff werent particularly attentive, our first evening for dinner we were left for at least 5 minutes at the bar waiting to be seated, stood directly in front of staff members who were trying their best to not acknowledge us Overall we wouldnt be happy to stay here again.

We have just had a three night stay at Holt Lodge. We had a Lovely warm greeting by the lady on the desk, Chris. Our room was located at the front where we were able to park our car outside our window. We had a room for disabled ( we are not disabled ) The room was a good size. The bathroom was in need of a bit of updating. I think there is no need for a bath and shower, just a shower. There was no plug for the sink. The bed was very soft, and bouncy. But it was all very clean. Lovely fresh towels & bed sheets. Tea & coffee . We had tv but unfortunately there was no signal all time. We had breakfast which was cooked beautifully & the staff was very friendly & accommodating. The grounds are well kept & ample parking too. If we go to Wrexham again I would definitely return.
