Booked direct with the hotel website and got a cheaper deal than even the reception staff could offer! Booked a dog friendly sea view comfortable room for two nights with en-suite, Room was a wee bit small (we do have a larger dog) with a double bed but for two nights it wasn’t an issue. En-suite was a wet room. Check in was great, lovely staff who I could see were getting the run around from the couple in front. All the staff from checking to the moment we left were great, all had time for a quick chat and, with the general decor, it seemed like a throw back to the 50’s & 60’s when good customer service was the norm. The breakfast was more than ample (and I like my food!) and having the dog, we took our in the Llewelyn Room - along with the other dog owners. I have only two gripes that can’t feasibly really be sorted - a) the room was very warm, even in early May, air con would be brilliant but in a hotel of this age, it’s not gonna happen and the supplied fan (in the wardrobe) had to suffice and b) the hotel car parking. It obviously wasn’t designed for cars of the modern era so it’s a bit tight to get a Land Rover in at times. However there is plenty of off site parking locally so it is first come first served. BUT - be aware the local seagulls love target practice so be prepared to stop at the garage jet wash on the way home! In all a very nice stay, thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome.

Visited today with my teenage daughter and my 96yr old Nain. The servers were very welcoming and attentive and very friendly. I had a good chat with them about the fact we were a 3 generation party. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. £15 for one course, £21 for two and I’m not sure how much for three courses as we weren’t having starters. My daughter and Nain had the baked chicken and I had the beef. It was beautiful and not a pink bit in sight! Perfect for me! The vegetables were lovely, especially the braised red cabbage and my Nain had second helpings of it. My daughter had a dessert (the raspberry and white chocolate brûlée) and it was a good size. They catered brilliantly to my daughter’s dairy and lactose intolerance and there was no butter on the vegetables as requested. Beautiful food with lovely service from the staff. The pianist in there playing the whole time gave it an upmarket atmosphere but without the upmarket price. The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the Straits with views of Snowdonia. Thank you for a great experience, we’ll be back.

We were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time … we managed to grab a cancellation for Easter Sunday lunch and it was a delight . The food ambiance and service is fantastic. Lovely home made , fresh food , served beautifully by lovely friendly staff . It’s a reminder of a bygone era , silver service in a lovely old fashioned dining room , with a pianist Playing . The lamb was cooked perfect and a very generous portion , served with plenty of fresh veg . The restaurant felt very calm , compared to a very busy Beaumaris town . We also had a drink on the terrace , with one of the best views on the Island . Keep up the great work.

Excellent location for a break at Easter. The cozy double was a reasonable size (room 209) and offered an affordable stay at the hotel. The hotel staff were great with our dog and have him cuddles at every opportunity. Hotel was clean. There was a bit of a staff shortage while we stayed and the manager swung into action and carried out multiple jobs to cover. A real hero. There is a guest dining room for owners of dogs that wish to eat there or you can leave your dog in the room and eat in one of the other restaurants. The dinner bed and breakfast deal provided £50 per night for a meal for two in the restaurant. Lovely furniture in the corridors. A mix of victoriana, Edwardian and art deco in terms of decoration. The owner was inspecting the hotel while we stayed and he picked up on necessary repairs where needed. Nice to see. In terms of covid safety you can have your room cleaned or get items left outside your door. Well done Bulkeley, we will be back
