The Beaches Hotel and Spa garners acclaim for its array of amenities, including pristine rooms with stunning sea views and a tranquil spa, complemented by a variety of appetizing dining options. Guests frequently commend the atmosphere, noting the modern decor and quality furnishings, although noise and certain unwelcoming signs have detracted from the experience for some. While cleanliness is consistently highlighted as a strong point, opinions on room size and value show a divide, with issues such as stuffiness and perceived high costs. The service receives mixed reviews, with instances of both commendable attentiveness and occasional lapses in professionalism.

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and loved it despite a lady from reception who was not helpful.
So we thought we would give it another go we booked a sea view superior room and an early check in, absolutely loved it so clean and well equipped had everything you could want. We ordered food in the evening and that was good extremely good, service from friendly staff was excellent.
Lovely comfortable bed so a great 2 nights sleep during our stay.
We used the pool on both days great changing rooms extremely clean, the stream room (or hot room) wasn’t working and we thought the pool was quite cool, in fact a group of ladies also staying at the hotel said the same when leaving the facility I mentioned this to the receptionist, she held up a paper and said I have a list of people who have used the pool and no one else has mentioned it 🙄 not helpful or professional so I knocked a star off for that, I did ask the group of ladies in the bar if they had mentioned it but they said no they hadn’t told them. Our second day in the pool a lovely family with a disabled son who were regulars at the hotel said the pool is not normally this cold, I told her of my comment from the receptionist she said she would inform a manger about the pool.
Would this stop us from going back absolutely not. Forget to mention they do a great breakfast with fab service

We booked a night away for a post-Christmas chill and as we didn’t want to go too far chose the Beaches at Prestatyn.
The hotel has been extensively renovated and looks very good. Unfortunately the front faces the Pontins holiday camp so a tip would be to request a sea view room.
There is a long walk along the sea front which certainly blew away the Christmas cobwebs.
We stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast deal which was exceptionally good value so would recommend that.
The pool was open though we didn’t use it although saw others doing so.
The hotel was very quiet due to the post Christmas lull but service was good and responsive- I forgot my phone charger but reception found me one very quickly.
Views from the restaurant are over the sea and the open area must be lovely in the summer.
Special shout out to the maitre’d Jeff who looked after us very well.
All in all a chilled break.

Came here as last minute trip with my partner and my daughter, found the place no problem. We booked the shalets, anyway checking in was greeted by two women who were really friendly and given me the room keys and show me where the room was. Found no problem. The shalet was ideal for two nights, it’s clean and modern inside with a smart tv which was a surprise! Lovely travel cot for my daughter. The back was pontins resort. If I had to be picky the windows need sorted (second bedroom and kitchen) with cleaning that’s not the resorts fault it’s more pontins, as the company bought the two shalets due to popularity. We used the swimming pool as a first time swim for my little one it was lovely we went around half 6 evening it was just us 3 - perfect! The jacuzzi lovely, the sauna went in was good the steam room I don’t think was working. Couldn’t answer breakfast, did had tea it was expensive of £51.70 - for Sunday dinner and hunters chicken burger, two puddings and two drinks… the food was faultless and the staff looked afterwards even speak to our daughter. Couldn’t fault the place at all, just wished we booked the hotel!

The hotel could have been so much more !
They can’t takeaway the awful view of the derelict pontins , but to say we had a Mountain View was a little ambitious overlooking this huge site we nick named Schitts creek . As I said to my wife , if you lie down on the bed it’s a Mountain View !
The staff overall just seem to need a refresher course on hospitality and how to greet guests or people in general. On arrival the receptionist had to finish her moan with another staff member before welcoming us, and when we asked where was nice to eat or any recommendations in town the reply was “I don’t know, I don’t eat out” until she warmed up a bit and gave us some knowledge on places we had googled . This seems basic knowledge to give guests whether you eat out and use the local facilities or not. And to be honest it’s the manner that goes with it .
Move onto our favourite waitress in the morning who just sounded like she was telling us off for not replying to her military questions for breakfast and which egg or tea and coffee when we didn’t hear her correctly, her hands actually gestured rudely and impatiently to us at one point. The lack of a smile or asking how our breakfast was , being welcoming just seemed a far stretch for most .
When asking reception a question about the spa , she didn’t even look up and just put the towels down for us . It was like we were just in the way.
No matter what a hotel is like aesthetically, the staff usually make up for it and it really does make you want to return, unfortunately that’s not the case with this hotel. Most of the staff we met seem demotivated, non engaging and miserable. Sharks I’m sure have a more welcoming environment.
It’s a huge red flag when the first sign you see on entrance to hotel is a warning sign for car park to greet you and the same for the breakfast and dining restaurant, first sign is a warning of what to wear like it’s a huge issue for all , rather than a welcome sign , and maybe talk to individual guests if it’s needed about appropriate clothing, although I didn’t see anyone in a bikini.
If the car park is such an issue for catching people out who are guests or visiting etc maybe revise how it’s done , because people taking advantage of your car park who aren’t guests won’t see them !

On way out staff was addressing another guest rudely as we left, it really just summed the place up.
The friendliest receptionist was Jo and the head waiter in the main restaurant, if only his presence could be emulated to others in the breakfast restaurant and reception.
Would not return as the staff let your hotel down.

My Fiancee and I, stayed at the Beaches Hotel with my Mother for 2 nights at New Year 2023 and also 3 evenings over the 2024 May Day Bank Holiday weekend. Both stays (particularly the New Year one) were the best we have had at any Hotel in recent years. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed by all the staff and all three of us had an excellent time. The restaurant food was really good in quality and portion size and Jeff was a superb host. We had some good banter with him. The hotel also accommodated our room and restaurant requests. My Mother even had an upgrade on the 1st stay. We had room 319 on both stays which had a sea-view. It was relaxing lying on the comfy bed with the window slightly ajar listening to the waves, or taking a late night drink back from the bar and sitting and watching the waves from our bedroom window table. The New Years Eve function was superb. Despite there being only 3 of us, we were given a well appointed spacious table with a great view of the Cavernites (Beatles Tribute) which my Mother in particular really enjoyed. For a function I was surprised at how good the food was. I am not a fan of beef but it was lovely and melted in your mouth and the veg was tasty too. You could also see all the staff were clearly working hard to give everyone a good evening and it was one of the best New Years Eves for us. Breakfast was also of a high quality. Plenty of choice. I enjoyed my Eggs Benedict/Royale. There was a decent selection of drinks in the bar (Pravha & Peroni), and the barman was really friendly and happy to talk about the recent history of the hotel. We also managed to enjoy a few late afternoon drinks on Bank Holiday Sunday on the hotel sea-view terrace. Lovely location. We hope to return again in 2025, we would’ve been there for New Year again, but we are just not a fan of the casino themed evening which is on this year. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard and made both our stays extremely enjoyable.

Thank you for your great review! We are delighted to hear that your stays at The Beaches Hotel are memorable ones, particularly over the New Year period. We strive to provide our guests with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and it's great to know that our team was successful in their endeavour. The fact that you enjoyed our restaurant's offerings and the spectacular views from room 319 is a testament to the efforts we put into ensuring our guests' satisfaction. The positive comments about Jeff and our other staff members will certainly be passed on. We are pleased that you found the New Year's Eve function last year to your liking, and that the food and service exceeded your expectations. We found the hotel to be very well kept, clean and with good provisions. The checking in staff were friendly and informative. We had a double aspect room on the top floor with amazing views and although a little on the small side, it had everything you need in good working order. It was cleaned and freshened every day with more tea, coffee and biscuits left.
Sue and her team are very efficient at breakfast and greet you with a smile, they work non stop and always checking for people coming in and needing anything. Breakfast cereal, juice and milk was always well stocked and the food very nice.
I had been looking forward to a cocktail all day and ordered at the bar to be told they had none (pre-made on pumps) but a lovely barman who had some good experience and knowledge (I didn’t take his name) went out of his way to source some Ingredients to make my favourite Pina Colada, now that’s service. Well will likely visit again.

Fabulous last minute booking in wales
Great hotel on the beach, quiet location 10 mins walk to the town
Great side or side sea view rooms.
The hotel is quite old so a little tired in places but loads of character and very clean and tidy .
Hotel staff are very good, food was excellent, lovely restaurant and bar area, fantastic breakfast.
Special mention to Jeff in the restaurant, a credit to the hotel as are all the staff.
All in all a great find and reasonably priced for a beach front hotel.
Parking at the hotel is opposite the entrance, free if you register your car on checking in.

One of the best places in the Prestatyn-Rhyl area of the North Wales coast. The hotel is located right on the seafront, with direct access to the promenade and an expansive, sandy and uncrowded beach. We called in for a tasty and reasonably priced light lunch, which we ate on the hotel's large terrace, with an uninterrupted sea view. The staff were friendly, parking was easy and the hotel had a good atmosphere. A spa and a pool will be opening on 15 September 2024.

I was excited to book this hotel as I had apprenticed there is 1970, 71. I sent them an email about my booking and excitement about coming home. They never even acknowledged my email. Disappointed in the cold greeting upon arrival by two people, very rude and unprofessional with no smiles or warmed. we were not given the room (222 above the bar and loud) we paid for and after calling down to the reception was told it was the one we paid for. While sitting for dinner I went to the front desk again and was first told it was the same room we had paid for and they were sold out. Only after sometime did the lady give me keys to another room 330 to view. This room was twice the size and had the view and matched the images 100% on the website. We were happy to get the new room. We paid for 4 breakfasts but only went for the first 2 days because here too we were greeted coldly and when asked if I could have a side of bacon on the second morning was first told no, when I offered to pay for it she went to check and delivered 2 slices of bacon that were very old and not edible. It’s very sad because I still left tips at each restaurant I visited and meals we ordered. When coming back to the hotel the original lady that checked us in asked so are you happy with the new room, I said I was but enquired why we not given this room in the first place. She said that all the superior rooms are the same which they are not and said well you got the room. No apologies. We felt we were beholden to their moods and attitudes and it was very uncomfortable. The hotel is lovely but the staff need to treat their guests better and go above and beyond with a smile. It is the nicest hotel in prestatyn with great views, I will not be staying there again or recommending it to anyone. If you book a room you need to be careful as there is a chance you won’t get what you paid for.

I am sorry to read about your less than satisfactory experience. It's disheartening that we did not meet your expectations. Your email had not been received by our team, which is why there was no response. Our goal is always to provide a warm and hospitable welcome to all our guests, and I'm sorry to hear that was not reflected in your recent visit. The issues you encountered with your room allocation are regrettable. We have 9 superior double rooms, and as the hotel itself is an old building, no two rooms are the same and all have their own charm. Our receptionist was able to move some room allocations around to free up a superior double for you to look at for your the remainder of your stay. Im pleased we were able to do that for you to look at and that you enjoyed the room during the stay once we arranged the room move for you. Your feedback is important to us as it helps us identify areas where we can improve. After discussing your review with our team, they have all commented on how lovely it was to chat with you whilst you reminised about your time here in the past. While we deeply regret that your recent stay was not up to the mark, we wish you happy and safe travels in the future.

I wanted a room with a sea view and room 219 did not disappoint. We were on the second floor but there is a lift. The room was beautifully appointed and the armchairs facing the large bay window were just the job to watch the dog walkers, the joggers, and the fishermen launching and bringing in their boats. We watched the tides come and go and saw two amazing sunsets over the sea. We'd booked a 2 breakfast and 1 dinner package. The dining room on the first floor was well used, as the weather was good the outside seating area soon filled up. The evening meals were delicious and the portions were HUGE. Breakfast in the downstairs dining room was also light and spacious. Meet and greet was efficient and again the food was delicious.
Checking in was easy, all the staff were friendly the hotel was spick and span throughout. Free parking was available for the duration of our stay inckuding check out day.
My only negatives, and only in my opinion, there were no face cloths provided and no non slip mat for the bath/shower. We're used to a firm bed but the one in the room was 'bouncy' so each time one of us moved it was like being on the ocean waves. We will definitely return to The Beaches Hotel and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to friends and family.
