Unfortunately there was no one around to meet us on our arrival but an envelope was left with the key to our room and we were told to make ourselves comfortable. The room was lovely and large with a bay window looking out onto a wonderful view. The bed was very big and comfortable. The breakfast was well cooked. The...

We arrived to a pleasant welcome and was showed to our room. Lady asked to help take one of our many bags (travelling with a 10 month old). Room was large, v clean and had wardrobe, sofa and table for bits of food/drink. Pretty much ideal for us. Nice sitting room with books or a few dvd's for a night...

After reading mixed reviews we were very weary about booking here but I am so glad we did! We arrived 4 hours after we desired to check in due to severe weather on the way down, We were greeted as if it were no problem at all which instantly made me feel at ease. We had our little boy aged...

We have visited here many times and always been very Happy with the spacious Rooms and large comfy Beds. The Owners Judith and David often go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating, even making sure we had something to eat before a very earlier start back to Heathrow. The view out the front window in Dining Room...

We just spent 2 nights here and loved it. Ignore the critical reviews- this is a well-run and high quality guesthouse. It is more guesthouse/ Victorian hotel than a traditional homely B&B but this is what makes it such a delightful and interesting place to stay! The owners Judith and David have lovingly redecorated the old Victorian house in period...

Thank you for your comprehensive and complimentary review. We're pleased that you liked our homage to William Morris and that you were comfortable in Room 2. Thank you too for your comments on our jams - we've had Tiptree jams delivered all the way from Essex for years now as I grew up in Colchester. I agree with you about...

We stayed in Room1 which was a family room (massive double bed plus a single) with one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in for a long while. There was plenty of hot water and the room was lovely and warm. The full english breakfast was superb. We would definitely recommend this lovely B&B.

I have not stayed in this place, had any food, but was there on the morning of a wedding, the bride was getting ready to go on to another venue etc, and the owner seemed to be very upset about a guest quoting a online price £9 cheaper, so apart from being really unpleasant, he had enough , and kicked...

This is the 3rd complaining review from this gentleman. The review made regarding the visit on Wed 28 August is completely untrue, libellous and gives TripAdvisor a really bad name. This gentleman was one of approximately 12 relative/friends of a family that had booked 4 rooms (2 single, 2 double) with us on Tuesday 27 August ie the night before...

We booked a 2 night stay In August as a last minute summer break for us and our dog. We were impressed with the size and the cleanliness of the room, more than big enough for the 4 of us! Breakfast was good with a varied menu and the owners were polite and helpful. The location of the hotel is...

We booked for 2 nights at the end of July to attend a friends wedding nearby. The day before we were due to arrive we discovered we had no one to look after the dog.
