Visited this pretty little port on a sunny Sunday in May. We hadn't read any reviews so took a bit of a punt on 'The Crown' as it had a banner saying winner of seafood pub of the year. We opted for the Mackerel fillets and Scampi with sides of hand cut chips and onion rings. AWESOME. Probably the best...

We stayed in nearby Sandhead, which is beautiful. Had three day trips to Portpatrick and found the lovely pub Crown Hotel. Beer was great, food was great, sat outside as the weather was brilliant. We had our dog with us. The first two days we could not fault the service, nothing was too much trouble. Day three must have been...

Had a great night in this hotel. We were allowed to check in a bit early. Got car parked no problem. Fire was blazing early on when it was a bit chilly, then the sun came out and it was outside for a table. Had a double room with a sea view. Portpatrick is a lovely place to visit. Can't...

Booked for sister hotel Mount Stewart but the day before received a call to say they had double booked and could accommodate us in The Crown. We accepted as it was very near our visit. On checking this seems to happen frequently! The Crown was ok but very noisy especially at night with music on. Couldn't get to sleep until...

Whenever you go to Port Patrick you will note that this Hotel is much busier than those on either side. That is the clue. The food is good. The service is a little bit up and down - hence only four stars. But this may be because they are busy?? I have not stayed over so cannot comment on the...
