What can I say about this traditional Scottish hotel. Staff pleasant and very welcoming a nd pet friendly. Some rooms are better appointed than others but they seem to have a lot of loyal regulars which must say something.

After reading previous reviews 5 of us decided to book. Starters were enjoyable, all ordered Roast Lamb, as housewives look forward to someone cooking a roast especially as lamb is very good in this part of Scotland, such a disappointment as thin slices of cremated meat sadly cannot recommend. Waiting staff most helpful.

Was staying at a local B&B and needed some food. Drove the 4 miles up the road and came across this place. As it was mid January, it was pretty quiet but the proprietor welcomed me in and I ordered a drink and food. I had scampi and chips and it was delivered piping hot within 5 minutes. It was...

A large old fashioned house with modern extensions added for bedrooms. The food and menu choice was very good with ample portions. In extensive wooded grounds so you can explore without leaving the property. Ample car parking.

Great hospitality, fabulous home-cooked food using local and seasonal produce, comfortable bar area with wood burning stoves- what more could you want! Wonderful location for exploring the Solway Coast. Highly Recommended. Don't miss it!

We were lucky to get 2 rooms at the last minute - perfect for us as both ground floor and accessible for my old mum. Plus rooms large enough to cater for 3 young children. The hotel were more than hospitable, even with our noisy brood. The family room was spacious with its own handy lounge area and 2 TV's!...

Great location for exploring the Solway Coast. Nothing special about the accommodation but it was perfectly adequate. Couldn't fault the staff, who were all helpful, or the food which good and reasonably priced.

Stopped in for a pub lunch. The owner was charming, the food was very tasty and well priced. the bar area is cosy and welcoming. This was not my first visit to Clonyard and as always I was not disappointed I would recommend a visit.

What a fantastic Hogmanay break. We are a vibrant family of 5 - children aged 11, 10 and 6 and could not be made to feel more welcome. We arrived as guests but left as friends. Terri and Neil could not run a more hospitable hotel. No request was too much for them. Our Hogmanay break was the best we...
