I was pleasantly surprised by the Ardencaple. The exterior is a bit run down looking but the welcome from the staff on reception was excellent and my room was very nice and clean. Stairs and landing could have done with a good brush. Breakfast was lovely. The setting is fabulous although I didn't have a sea view.

We had a lovely meal here tonight .We noticed the hotel as we passed and decided ,on a whim, to stop and have a drink. While we sat we had a look at the menu and,as it looked promising,we decided to order dinner. We weren't disappointed...we had chicken wings and soup to start and then we had beef and ale pie and...

We stayed here two weeks ago and a pleasant stay it was. We were met at the door by Jan with a warm and friendly welcome. After formalities we were shown to our room with a cracking view and a comfy bed.. Out for a walk, then back for a bite to eat from a really good menu. Food really...

Friendly welcome and service. The room was just ok. It appeared to have been recently refurbished but was still a bit tatty an areas. It was also cold due to a draughty window. I would stay again but wouldn't recommend for more than a couple of days.

I have stayed here a few times on business. The staff are exceptional, the food is basic but cheap and edible, the drink is good value and the rooms at the back of Hotel are good. The rooms at the front need to have double glazing urgently as the road noise is unbearable. FREE WIFI is available but it is...

Mum and I stayed here for a couple of nights. We were very impressed with the professionalism of all staff and their attentiveness towards us. We had travelled up from the South West of England and were greeted by a very pleasant female staff member. Despite arriving after breakfast, we were offered food and drinks which we accepted. This was...
