Booked as a surprise night away on a mini tour of Scotland. Upon arrival the building looked in poor condition, could do with a fresh paint. In side we were greeted by friendly staff, and given our room. Top floor large family room, the main bed was very large, it is a firm bed. The bathroom is also very large.... More

Lovely old mansion. Needs a bit of TLC but on the whole very good. Warm welcome from staff. We had the large lounge all to ourselves and enjoyed sitting at the log fire. No TVs in the bedroom and could not get the one in the lounge to work perhaps weak signal. Plenty of board games and magazines. Food was... More

My wife got a great deal, 3 course meal, bottle of wine and breakfast for both of us, £59! I had read the reviews with great interest, and wasn't sure what to expect, but it was fantastic; The young lady on reception was lovely, in fact all the staff without exception were friendly and helpful, special mention to Mark in... Just back from a 2 night stay at this fascinating historic property. Built in 1793, the building's glory days may be long gone but the current owners are doing an admirable job of keeping it going, mainly by hosting group holidays and conferences I believe. The bathroom in our room and the dining room (and it does feel like a... More

Stayed 23-28 October on a knitting & crochet retreat & will be booking another stay next year. Potholes have been filled in on the drive, exterior may be dated but the warmth & attention of the staff, the best food & character of the house take some beating. Didn't hear anything but praise for an enjoyable week from the group.... More

This place was a very mixed bag. Welcoming staff, decent food but the poor old building is in desperate need of repair, particularly the outside. It looked as though work had been going on to upgrade the building and I hope it continues so it is restored to its former glory.

My husband and I spent a very relaxing overnight stay here. Yes, it is dated and tired (built in 1793!) but quirky and charming. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a lovely room with a fantastic view. Food was good. Breakfast was self-service and plentiful. No complaints... we look forward to returning for longer and enjoying the lovely... More

The website is limited and shows the hotel in a better light than the real thing, as we drove onto the half mile driveway our car bounced over the many pot holes and ruts in the road, surprisingly un kept entrance to the hotel, arriving at the hotel itself was less than impressive, my wife's reaction was "faulty towers" UK...
