We visited the Black Bull Hotel for the very first time, the last week in August of 2015 for 5 days. We had a fantastic stay, we were made very welcome by Liz, who is the owner, the staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was fabulous, the accommodation was very clean and cosy, rooms are a very good... More

Stayed one night as part of our Rob Roy Way walk. Excellent accommodation, hospitality and food. Would definitely recommend. There is a signposted diversion to Gartmore off the main route. The hotel is approximately 10 miles walk from Drymen.

Staying at Cobleland campsite and unfortunately discovering the hard standing pitch we were allocated resembled a quarry we were very keen to get out for the evening. Booking into the campsite earlier we were delighted to be informed that a courtesy shuttle service ran between the local hotel, The Black Bull in Gartmore and the campsite. The shuttle ran at... Dropped in coming back from a day out for something to eat, on an early Saturday evening. Looked deserted and shut up from the outside, and once we ventured in we were disappointingly the only people in the building. A pleasant member of staff led us to an odd, and very cramped room adjacent the bar area. The room had... More

A group of 5 of use were staying here for a friend's wedding in Aberfoyle and it is absolutely lovely. Everyone was so, so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was included in the price and tasted amazing! So much food, I couldn't finish it (I really wanted to though). The pub was warm and great drinks at great prices. The... More

Visited on 2/7/15 for a meal. Food was lovely and staff very nice. Especially attentive to two elderly aunts. Bar is small and waitress suggested we might prefer one of the dining rooms, which was great. Even the dog was was made welcome. As we bought a holiday home nearby this will be really handy to dine out and forget... More

Stayed in the Blackbull for three nights with my nieces wedding reception being held there on the third night. The whole stay could not have been better. The entire team at the Blackbull were so friendly and helpful, they couldn't do enough for us. Three good night sleep ensued thanks to the extremely comfortable bed. We ate dinner in and... More

The Black Bull delivered a super and memorable evening with great food, excellent service and an overall relaxed ambiance. Liz, Andy and their team made sure every detail was taken care of and they went the extra mile to ensure we had a lovely evening. Feedback from our guests confirmed that the party went well and that everyone enjoyed themselves.

Had a family party here over the weekend. Liz and Andrew couldn't have done enough and the work they put in behind the scenes is admirable. The food was delicious, the custom birthday cake faultless and we wouldn't have had such a great night without them! Thank you! Definately recommend!
