The Palombo family, orginally from Italy, run Balloch's traditional fish restaurant. It's above this restaurant that the family have 5 beautiful Bed and Breakfast rooms looking onto the picturesque Loch Lomond town of Balloch. The Bed and Breakfast is on the main Balloch Road, a couple of minutes walk across the bridge to further restaurants/cafes/pubs and a 10 minute walk to Loch Lomond Shores (full of shops including Jenners, Loch Lomond Aquarium, National Park, Woodland Trails, Ceramic Experience, Loch Cruises, and more).

Delicious fish and chips, the gluten free option tastes amazing and gluten free condiments available too. Friendly, helpful staff and very reasonable prices. We ate in the restaurant although take out is available too. Clean and comfortable throughout.

We were at Lomond Woods in our campervan and fancied fish and chips....great menu but we just went for breaded fish and chips and were not disappointed. Crispy coating and beautiful, flaky fresh fish and chips cooked to perfection. Just the way to end a day of dog walking round Loch Lomond. Friendly staff and seems to be really popular with locals.

We were staying in Balloch for one night and going further north after. We booked here and thought despite reviews saying there was no smell of fish and chips in the rooms that there would be. But I can confirm that you could not smell anything at all. The room was great. The location is on street, there is parking on the street but there is a public car park right opposite which is free and you can walk here around the park. We visited towards end of September so I dont know how busy it gets in July and August but we had no problem in getting a space. It is free so no restriction either. You get in through the chip shop although once you get in you are given a key which will give you access to a back door if you want to come and go that way. The room was quite big and lovely big window so nice and light and overlooking the back. The bed was very comfortable and there was tea and coffee and biscuits which we thought was nice. The en suite was very nice and shower was big. It had a mini fridge in the room which is a nice touch, especially when it is warm cos, you can keep a bottle of pop or water cold. Also there is a small outdoor seating area which is near the rooms which you can go and sit out if you want. Everyone who owns/works there that we encountered was very welcoming and friendly. When we checked in we were about 15 mins early but they were open and said it was no problem at all. They told us about a bar out the back that does kareoke on a weekend, not sure was this to warn us that potentially it could be a bit noisy or whether we wanted to go! Either way we didnt hear any noise and quite frankly if you are staying in the centre of a town on a weekend then you should expect some noise! We had long drive again next day so had an early night and had a great night's sleep. We were given times for breakfast to choose from and asked if we wanted full cooked breakfast, which we did. They told us the times of the restaurant bit of fish and chips that they closed and the time of the take away part. We said we had already decided that we were going to be having our tea in the restaurant, they said it can get busy. We went down and got the last table at about 6.30pm and there was a queue outside the door for the take away. Clearly very popular. The breakfast was very nice, cooked - sausage, egg, bacon, tattie scone, mushroom, toast and tea/coffee and juice. Set us up for the day and we checked out by 9am and set on our way.…

On arrival at the chip shop we were greeted by a queue on the pavement waiting to be served and at the time we took this as a good sign, upon finally getting served we discovered at at the back of 6 on a Saturday night they had 2 people working and not a lot of food, when we finally got to the counter we were served by a women who thought it was better to have a conversation with her co- worker about charging an e cigarette!!, the food was nothing to write home about was cold and tasteless WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE BACK and would definitely not recommend to anyone else

Stayed here this weekend. We’ve stayed in Balloch twice now to do the swims. Really enjoyed our stay again. Palombos is in a great location on the high street. Really happy with this b&b. Staff are lovely. Room was a nice size with an en suite and very clean. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and, having eaten here a few times, I can highly recommend the fish and chips in the evening. So next year if your coming to do Loch Lomond Swim think about a staying overnight as it’s a good night out afterwards. We’ll be back again next year.

Stayed for a long weekend at this little B&B in the centre of Balloch. The staff are really friendly and cannot do enough for you. The room is small but clean, and has a small fridge, which is very useful. The full Scottish breakfast is delicious and really does set one up for the day. The station for trains into Glasgow is a 5 minute walk and there are a few pubs and restaurants close by. Balloch Country Park is just over the road, recommended for a stroll before breakfast! I can recommend this accommodation and look forward to returning.

Location, Location, Location!!! Across the street from the Loch Lomond Highland Games. Just a short walk from the train station, the water taxi and our bus tour (also educational and fun). The best thing about this place though are the people. From the owner, to the people that got you coffee in the morning, to the people that brought you tea and coffee for your room, everyone was fantastic. Ours was not a huge room, but it was perfect for my wife and I. Just what we were looking for at a reasonable price.

Called in at the end of a day on Loch Lomond. We ordered a fish supper and found the fish to be the best we have tasted in a long time. The service was very good and the whole experience encouraged us to revisit a few days later in our holiday. On the second visit the fish was equally good but sadly the service was not as good as previously. All in all the patchy service is worth living with for the exceptional fish and chips on offer.
