We had a lovely overnight stay and couldn't fault Glenfern. Frank (owner) was the perfect host, friendly and helpful, with lots of recommendations for the local area. The room was spotlessly clean, wifi worked well and the breakfast was lovely, hit the spot nicely! Highly recommended!

A warm welcome by Frank continued throughout or stay. He could not do enough to assist us.Though continental breakfast, it was lovely, well presented and plenty to eat. Would certainly go back if in that area again. Frank is a mine of information.

The family that is going to host you is lovely, the place offers great comfort and the house is really pretty. You will be offered free wifi, comfortable and cozy beds and a for breakfast you just have to ask. If you happen to pass near Balloch give yourself a favor and spend some time here.

Great location for the loch and restaurants... We booked the budget twin as it was just me and my elderly father doing a Scotland tour. Ideal for what we wanted... The room was a bit small, but clean and comfortable. Sandra and Frank a lovely couple.... Tasty fresh breakfast in the morning to set us up for our travels. Would... More

Sally T Frank was a welcoming host and the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Glenfern was rated at 3 stars by the tourist board and we would agree with this. The room we had was small. The breakfasts were fine. We couldn't fault Frank for his friendliness and knowledge of the local area. He was a real character... More

Room upstairs was small and a bit cramped but clean. The host was very helpful in suggesting places to eat and visit, good location for cruise on Loch Lomond and the surrounding areas. Some road noise at night but not too bad; personal preference is for thicker curtains to keep the light out .

Located just off the A82, it was the perfect location on our drive north. It was a short walk from the center of Balloch. Room was comfortable and clean and Frank, our host, was delightful and a font of information, Good value too, would happily stay again.

We stayed for one night, wish it had been longer as the host was such a delight. We were met by Frank who showed us everything in our room and offered to help with our luggage. To our horror, we discovered we had chocolate in the car which was melting, so Frank took it in and put it in the... More

A new stopover for us in Balloch on the way to the Isles as our previous B&B host has retired. Glenfern was easy to find, exactly where we needed and we had really comfortable beds - my "better half" is tall so this can be an issue. Frank gave us the info we needed to use the B&B and local... Booked here as a stopover on my Scotland tour, and wanted somewhere close to the Loch. Very cosy, clean and comfortable room downstairs. No concerns with the room, except the wifi signal was weak - although they're trying to get this fixed. I had good mobile signal nonetheless. Frank and Susan are very welcoming- Frank was very knowledgeable on the... More
