We booked here after some recommendations and the reviews we didn't even read before going and I am glad we didn't. We had a great weekend We came here due to not being able to go away on a honeymoon and we can do nothing but praise the hotel staff reception staff and bar staff especially fiona and megan who went above and beyond and made our stay plesent and enjoyable. We arrived and checked in very quickly room was basic but clean and that's all that matters headed to the bar where Megan greeted us and recommended some nice cocktails which were amazing. We ordered some food again which was very nice. Staff were very helpful on recommending when we were looking for things near by. The hot tubs are an excellent addition to the hotel we loved being able to relax later at night with a few drinks. I would defo recommend booking these in advance to. We love it that much we've booked to go again next week.

Booked a 1 night stay on 05/06/21. The first room we got was absolutely infested with flies. Reception gave us another room but that hadn’t been made up since the last people left. The 3rd room we were given was on the 4th floor. The smell of mould when we got out the lift was unreal! The room we got also had mould in the corners and stains on the sheets and pillows. We didn’t stay for round 4, we left and came home.

Arrived at the checking in time. Looked like a pleasant hotel, views are beautiful. Then we were told that we would have to wait for our room as it wasn't quite ready. Ok, but It was over an hour later, the problem being that they didnt have the staff, but thats not our problem they should tell people to come later if thats the problem. So off to our twin room, very small, had to squeeze past the beds. The room was filthy, the floor was dirty, ledge under the window was full of dirt and some flies. Hairs on the pillows and the bedding and the funniest thing was that they had tucked under the duvet cover so you didn't see that it was at least 10 inches to small for the duvet. WHO DOES THAT !!!! We had to ask for pillows, another cup and some coffee as there was none. We where going to go out for tea to the fish and chip shop but it was closed, so we had dinner in and this was the best thing about the hotel. We ordered Fish and Chips and were not disapointed, the fish was huge, very fresh and the chips very good. Then, came my drink, the glass was chipped and when I said this to the waiter it was Oh yes, and just took it away. No apology, no new drink, I think by this time i'd just had enough I felt like we where the problem. Breakfast was okish but not to my taste, burnt toast that looked like it was the bottom of the bag. The whole place needs a good clean and bringing into the 21st century. I get they may be short staffed but this is a covid period when things should be very very clean to the highest standard and this place is not. Manager very nice and very apoligetic but you felt a bit like they were laughing behind your back and didnt care. Very disapointed and will not be staying again So sorry but this could be a really nice place. Like another woman I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Glasgow Airport, half the price and it was a huge room and spotlessly clean.

Definitely the worst hotel we've ever stayed. We checked in in our bedroom to find stained bed sheets in all beds. We called the reception to ask for clean ones. No apology was offered or anything just a pile of bedding again stained. Then we found used face masks under the beds. The room had not a single towel or face cloth. The staff are not using any face masks. At 2 am people are still out shouting and very loud and not a single staff member could do anything!

Arrived Saturday evening after paying for diner bed and breakfast. On arrival we were hit with a story about staff walking out and that they could try and see what they could do for us to eat. Booked for 1800 and hot tub for 1900. 1850 we were still waiting on our food to arrive, which we were only given a selection option from. Our food never arrived so we were left to call round the village to see if there was any availability given the current restrictions. We eventually found somewhere costing us an extra £40 obviously we missed out hot tub reservation due to this. We arrived back at the hotel to find a tribute night on and were unable to get to the bar die to the over crowding at it, again given the current guidance there should have been no standing at the bar...The manager had no control the situation and was clearly unable to handle the tribute night. The place was over crowed and not one person was challenged re face masks when walking about. We have been in several places since the Covid restrictions have been in place and they have been able to meet these however visiting this hotel you would have thought the world have gone back to "normal". Shame it could be a well run venue.
