We stayed at this hotel for a Mon - Fri break with Shearings Holidays. For what we paid, I thought that we got value for money. Although the hotel is in need of some upgrading the staff could not be faulted, the food was of a good standard and served efficiently. We had entertainment each evening and we had four...

Just arrived home after a 4 night stay at the Claymore on a National Coach Tour, and once again we really enjoyed the experience. The Claymore is by no means 5 star, but the hotel is clean, the food is plentiful, well cooked, with a good selection. The hotel and rooms are adequately heated and the staff are extremely obliging....

Had an enjoyable stay at the Claymore. My single room was on the ground floor and quite spacious. There was a wash basin in the room and a separate room contained the toilet and a shower. The shower was hot and the pressue excellent. There was a kettle for brewing up tea or coffee (but no biscuits). The room was...

Many thanks for your in-depth and interesting review. I'm delighted to read that you enjoyed the hot buffet breakfast. It has taken some time for our guests to get used to it but I think it's running quite well now although I understand it doesn't suit everyone. The wifi in the hotel is hopefully going to be upgraded which should...

Just got back from a 4 Night break with National Holidays. If you read other reviews it will say that the hotel is a bit tired in places. It is. A top tip is pay extra for a room with a view. The staff were excellent, very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed the meals. Didn't have a bad one. It's...

Many thanks for your comments regarding your recent stay. I can inform you that we are to have another 12 bedrooms and bathrooms refurbished in April. This will increase the number of rooms with showers. Unfortunately here in the country Freeview has a very weak signal and can be intermittent. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the view - it can...
