We had the local filliet steak which was cooked beauitfully to our liking, and it was local beef from the island. The puddings were also lovely, again cooked on the premices, rather than wholesale puddings which are often found. Locals using the pub was encouraging.

The staff and friendly from the moment you walk in and the food here is fantastic and check out the specials board. If you like something different then just ask and they are always happy top help and make your visit a good one. Accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable but this is reflected in the price. I always look forward to popping in when i am over on the island. Really tasty 'proper' pub food with generous portions! Burgers are mouth-wateringly succulent (handmade with local beef). And the desserts are scrumptious! Tasting platter is a little plate direct from heaven. Maria and the team are so welcoming & friendly.

A nice find with very good service and nice food. Nothing exceptional but just met the bill for a light lunch. Menu looked good if you wanted more, or an evening meal. Really good for Bute where options are a bit limited.

Lovely, if remote, location Visited on a whim. Bute is beautiful. Food was lovely but be prepared - portions are very generous. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would love to come for an overnight some time.

I have been holidaying on Bute for many years and always eat at The Kingston Hotel at least twice each time. The welcome is warm and the service is efficient and friendly. Expect to wait a little while for your meal as everything is cooked fresh. My Mother wanted the fish pie which was described as having various fish and...

My fourth visit to stay here, and if anything, the food is even better. Clearly fresh ingredients being used, and, contrary to a recent review, the portions are very ample. Some imaginative dishes, as well as standards such as the roast beef available at weekends, served 'with all the trimmings', which is no understatement, down to the kilted sausages, stuffing...

Went here for family dinner, stayed a few miles up the road. Food was average, nothing special. I had salmon which was meant to be served with scalloped potatoes on a bed of fennel. There were 3 halves of tiny potatoes and couple of bits of fennel, with the salmon portion floating in a huge bowl of 'sauce' (more like...

Cant believe some of the reviews. Called in for lunch on our short visit to Bute. One on the best meals I have had since we arrived in the UK 5 weeks ago. Shared the seafood platter with my wife. I think we will come back for dinner tonight.
