We love the Royal Hotel. Stayed many times on trips to Scotland. Lovely location. The superior rooms with seaview are lovely. Big spacious bathrooms. Lovely views over the Kyles of Bute. The restaurant is excellent - we enjoyed the tapas style menu very much. The public areas are very comfortable and relaxing. The Covid rules were sensible and not overbearing. They do seem to have stopped doing real ale in the bar which is slightly disappointing. Breakfast was also excellent. All round, a very pleasant short stay. Must stay here for a few days sometime.
Just come back from a 5 night stay here. Lovely hotel in a spectacular location. We stayed dinner, bed and breakfast. Breakfast cooked to order and delicious, dinner had good choices and again delicious. Staff are the friendliest I have ever come across. Exceptionally friendly. They certainly made our break so much more rewarding. Can’t wait to go back as soon as we can. Thank you so much 😊
Stayed for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Excellent location, very nice public rooms, bedrooms were comfortable and spacious, especially the sea view ones, food was delicious, and staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. Overall an excellent hotel and highly recommended. Keep up the good work Greg and Gill.
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights mid August as we had been looking for a quiet place to visit due to the current situation. The location is very good and we had booked a sea view room which was certainly worth it for the beautiful scenery. We had our bikes with us and were able to store them in the hotel which was a great bonus. The hosts are very welcoming and all staff were very friendly and hard working, we ate in the hotel the three nights as there was nothing open in the centre of the village. The menu is tapas style that I believe is in place due to COVID, the food was ok but not a huge selection to choose from so quite repetitive, hopefully this will improve as the COVID situation improves. This is a lovely hotel that we will certainly visit in the future.
I stayed here (on the sea-front in Tignabruaich) for 3 nights with my family, while walking the Cowal Way - our rooms and the dining areas and the residents' lounge all had a lovely view across the Kyles of Bute to the island of Bute , everything on the tapas-style menu for our party's evening meals was delicious and the breakfasts were especially good and all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A great base for exploring the southern end of the Cowal pennisula.
