This was our last stop on the WHW. Hotel excellent value for money, the Bothy Bar had a good selection of beer, whisky and food and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The one thing that let it down was breakfast, service was dis-jointed and we were served probably the worst porridge I have ever eaten, I left most...

We stayed here as our penultimate stop before finishing the walk. Were glad to reach it and found the location was lovely and the view from the bar deck was stunning. We found the Hotel was very friendly and the beer and food were very good, but was very busy and a bit noisy for us. The room was a...

The rooms and bathrooms are out of date and it badly needs a refresh. The bar and food were good, breakfast very average. I found it to be overpriced, but the demand is high due to it's location and it's very popular with walkers.

Have stayed here a few times over the years whilst dong the WHW and cannot fault the location, bar or food. All very clean and hospitable. However, on this occasion we stayed in one of the cabins that was perfectly clean however between the eleven cabins and numerous spaces for tents there are only TWO showers and TWO toilets that...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and your kind comments on our hospitality and cleanliness. Whilst the facilities are perfectly ample for the 9 cabins and tent pitches, and I'm glad that you didn't personally find it an issue, we are in the process of finding the best possible solution to upgrade them. As you can...

We stayed in cabin 8 after a days hike and it was lovely. So many fellow hikers (many of which were camping) and such a friendly atmosphere from staff too. The cabins are large and clean with areas to place backpacks and boots and bunk beds for 4. We had lots of room, the two of us. Toilets, showers (you...

Arrived as part of West highland Way visit during exceptionally busy period in Kinlochleven. Helen and Mark's team were not flustered and ensured everyone received great hospitality from campers to hotel guests. Pre-curser to Scottish 6 days event was on at same time making everywhere busy with potential for waits - this did not happen. Very impressed with members of...

I have used this hotel for a few years in a row now for my guided hikes on the West Highland Way . I usually bring as many as 15 guests with me and it's never a problem here at the MacDonald . The owners Mark and Helen have turned this " way stop " into one of the best...

Came here for a 60th birthday. Hosts were friendly helpful and attentive. Food tasty and plentiful. Massive selection of whisky if you fancy a taste. Terrace and main bar has a great view down the lock.

We stopped here for 1 night on the way to the Western Isles. After traveling for 11 hours it was a lovely break. Cabins were cosy and comfy. Toilet and shower block was well lit. Bothy bar served some great grub with a fab selection of gins too! Staff were friendly and our breakfast in the morning was delicious 👍🏼
