Popped in here for a few drinks as we were on holiday nearby. Lovely ambiance in the bar. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Expect it would be lovely for a short break as it’s ideally located in a very peaceful part of Argyll. Would highly recommend

We stayed in the Kilfinan house across the road and it made sense to have a meal here given it’s close proximity. As a self confessed foodie I was initially worried about this being one of our only options for dinner but I can confirm that I actually ate from this hotel every night of our stay. We arrived relatively late the first night and after having a drink we realised that we’d left it quite late to eat. We walked over to the kilfinan hotel and despite them not having space for us (understandable on a Friday night withCovid restrictions) they kindly offered us a takeaway of dauphinois potatoes and lamb. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the dauphinois potatoes were full of flavour. Of course after a great meal we returned the next night and again the food was sensational. A lady, I believe to be called called Geraldine, and her daughter were so welcoming and attentive. We then decided to book a dinner for the next night with a slightly larger party and everyone was so so impressed. The scallops were definitely the best I’ve ever had and my boyfriend who is quite picky loved them too. The tomato soup was so flavourful and the rib eye steak and cod were both cooked perfectly. If you go here you must get the raspberry meringue roulade. My Nana said this was the highlight of her birthday weekend it was that good! The staff heard us mention that it was my Nana’s birthday and even brought her out a free drink on the house and she was delighted. Overall the service and food here was amazing and I would hurry to return. The Kilfinan hotel is run by lovely people who provide true hospitality and the place is so cosy inside. Highly highly recommend.

We didn't stay in the hotel, we popped in for drinks on Monday. As a result of the amazingly friendly welcome, we booked in for dinner on Wednesday. Given the fabulous food - we returned on Friday!! What's a holiday for if it's not to treat yourself!!! The bar area is warm and welcoming, with enough room to have a safe distance between the guests. The whisky selection was great - I tried two new blends (normally a single kinda girl). We dined in a cosy dining room, again with plenty of space between guests. The service was great, friendly and not overbearing (never felt rushed). I had the scallops, steak and lemon torte on my first visit. Delicious!! The steak was cooked to perfection, with fresh succulent mushrooms on the side (none of this dried and rehydrated nonsense). The scallops were plentiful and the tiny (just enough) crisped bacon added a wonderful bit of texture and seasoning. The torte was beautiful - not too sweet and warned through. The second nighy, I'd eaten too much at lunch so skipped the starter and went for steak again! This girl likes steak!!! And for dessert I went for the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream (big kid wanted ice cream). It was huge, moist and unbelievably chocolaty!!! We even left with some fabulous artwork for our hall (we paid - didn't steal it). We'd definitely head back to the Kilfinan Hotel - and this time book a room for a couple of nights! (No pictures from the hotel, so here's one of the nearby beach - just a short walk through the estate.)

Went for dinner on Monday evening and enjoyed beautifully cooked fresh Scallops and locally sourced leg of lamb which we both thought was fantastic. I chose the Brownie for pudding which I shared with my wife. The staff were all really friendly and attentive. We thought it was so good we booked again for Wednesday evening. Excellent value and a great night out.

This review is for dinner, we didn't stay at the hotel.. Staying in the area, we booked for dinner. The food was very underwhelming and too expensive. The bottle of wine we ordered costs under a tenner in the supermarket and was charged at twenty quid. The lady serving us was very friendly but all over the place. Just really ordinary food at inflated prices and we left lighter in the wallet and a bit disappointed. Why have an electric fire on in the reception area but not light the open fire? it had a confused seventies vibe and food to match.
