In a quiet place of undisturbed tranquility and almost surreal natural beauty, where the slopes of Ben Cruachan fall into the clear waters of loch Awe, lies a deeply romantic and luxurious old country house called Ardanaiseig. In a 19th-century manor house on 120 acres beside Loch Awe, this luxury hotel is 21 miles from the ruined Kilchurn Castle and 22 miles from Ben Cruachan. Elegant rooms offer loch or garden views and feature antique furnishings. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, tea and coffee making facilities, and designer Scottish toiletries. There is also a separate glass-fronted loch side Boatshed suite and a 2-bedroom cottage. An acclaimed restaurant serves upmarket, seasonal dishes. Full Scottish breakfast and afternoon tea are available, and other amenities include boat rentals, croquet and bikes.

Lovely old worldly hotel, my daughter and son in law treated my grandson and I to a early birthday tea. The hotel itself is in a great location, very old fashioned which we loved ..Very comfortable furniture and indeed nodded off after tea as was very full up Loads of sandwiches which were delicious 😋 and an arrangement of cakes ,scones and shortbread ,all absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend anyone wanting to have a special day here . Will definitely return and take a walk round the grounds ..It was pouring with rain when we visited ..I expect the place would be stunning in the sunshine 🌞 It was lovely and cosy in the rain

We were looking for somewhere luxurious for an overnight stay and liked the look of Ardanaiseig. During the booking process, it was mandatory to specify which room you would prefer to stay in. We didn’t really have a preference but spent 5 minutes choosing one. Unfortunately on arrival we were allocated to a different room so it was actually a bit annoying having been forced to spend time selecting one! The hotel offers a number of activity packages and we received an email a few days prior to our arrival with links to the offers. Unfortunately they must have redesigned their website but not updated any of the links in their email template because none of the links worked. The hotel is off the beaten track and first impressions on arrival were fantastic, as the house and

The hotel is by the shore of Loch Awe and is reached by a single track road. It is set in its own grounds which stretch down to the Loch, with lots of walks available. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the service is good. The food is imaginative, well presented and tasty. Our room was lovely with its views of the grounds and the loch, but some of the furnishings and fittings are tired. The owners need to spend money on updating/improving these if the hotel is to flourish.

Amazing room, bath and grounds. Food was good but not really worth the high price. Tried to charge us for bike hire despite the website saying it was free. Worth hiring though to cycle to the nearby pub. Amazing views on the way.

First impression as you arrive is not good, the buildings and gardens are poorly kept, it all looks rather tatty, which is certainly at odds with the website impression. The double front doors are not just worn, they are dirty from hundreds of hands. Covid precautions are perfectly adequate and the staff take this seriously. Our welcome was friendly and efficient, but we were already disappointed with the hotel. The reception area is a mess, untidy and not very clean. We had a loch view room. It is also not very clean. Paintwork is old, radiators chipped, lighting is dreadful, , carpet and furniture is worn out. Bathroom is worse! Cheap flooring is loose, basin taps are poor, the basin plug doesn't work, not does the heated towelrail. The bar could be cosy, but it isn't. They
