Nestled on the banks of Loch Awe within its own sheltered bay. Taychreggan Hotel is over 300 year old and a former Drovers Inn, has now been gracefully updated over the last 2 years to offer the perfect retreat. Enjoy award winning food, our new two AA rosette restaurant FAODAIL is just that (a lucky find) menus showcase the finest and freshest of local and seasonal produce with spectacular views down Loch Awe the food is every bit as good as the view! It should be noted that new management took over the running of Taychreggan in November of 2019 and although responses to reviews prior to this show as the current manager this is in fact just the way that Tripadvisor manage the listing. Absolutely nothing to fault. I was nervous about travelling to a hotel for the first time since lockdown first began but I need not have worried. It was a fantastic experience. The hotel was spotlessly clean; all of the staff were so attentive, friendly and hardworking; the room was spacious and the views over Loch Awe were stunning. One of the nicest breakfasts in a hotel we have ever had. Food was beautifully cooked at dinner although we could have probably managed larger portions (maybe just us being a bit greedy...). Would highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful getaway and we can't wait to return. Thankyou, Taychreggan!

Enjoyed a couple of nights away at this hotel which is at the very end of the road overlooking Loch Awe. A delightful setting. The original building is 17 century but is has been sympathetically upgraded and the attention to detail is to be commended. We had a room overlooking the Loch and it was so very pleasant looking out from the window enjoying a cup of tea with the home made shortbread. However even better was sitting by the small firepits set up on the grass overlooking the Loch with a G&T or glass of wine either before dinner or watching the sun set. It would appear that during your stay at Taychreggan, staff are instructed to 'treat' you as a friend but not to get too friendly. A nice touch. For dinner you can opt to eat in either the bar or the main restaurant.

Truly amazing. Everything you could wish for in a luxury break in a stunning location. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, fantastic food. We dined in both the bar and the restaurant so can vouch for both. Breakfast was great too, you can opt for the traditional cooked breakfast or something a bit special, I did, as I like an eggs royale which was cooked to perfection. Our room was perfect for our needs and everything was spotless and clean. Its quite clear that Michelle takes a close interest in everything and all aspects of the day to day running of the hotel and it shows. Its fantastic. It was our first time but we will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone, you will not be disappointed, Colin and Jeanette.

We had a lovely evening away at the Taycherggan with our wee dog this week. The hotel is in a stunning location. It’s well decorated and immaculately clean as well as having very friendly staff. There are so many lovely wee extra touches all the place just make this a truly nice place to stay. We will definitely visit again.

Hi Graham, Hope you are spreading the word around Glasgow in your cab. It was great fun AS ALWAYS to have you and the gang here for opening weekend. We got two more of your favourite fire pits and they will be in situ by your next visit in addition to more whisky barrel chairs. As you said nothing beats a bit of banter, a fire, a loch and a wee dram. See you all soon. Cheers
