I would never describe myself as a connoisseur of fine dining or cuisine, however this hotel's dining is more in line with motorway service station food than a quality hotel chain. I have to stay in this hotel as this is where my employer place me, and in turn my employer is kind enough to fund dining in the hotel...

The Mecure in Livingston is starting to get a bit long in the tooth, however the staff are really friendly, the beds and pillows are very comfortable. The internet connection is reliable. Special mention to Claire at reception and Sarah in the restaurant. Taxis or a car is needed to get around Livingston, just be aware that most taxis dont...

First time at the Mercure and it definately won't be my last. Staff were really friendly and helpful. room was spotlessly clean, bed was comfy and we had the most ridiculously comfortable reclining chair (I need that chair in my life!). We had originally planned to eat out but after a day's shopping decided to eat in the hotel restaurant...

This is only the second time ive been at this hotel. But this time im so impressed with the food i had to leave a review. After staying in a lot of hotels in the edinburgh area lately for buisness ive found myself increasingly disappointed in hotel food. But a new menu and i guess maybe new staff/attitude has made...

Nice clean and comfortable rooms but I found the reception staff not very friendly. There is no going extra. Service is provided with blank faces and doesn't make you feel as a valued customer. Ideal location for people who are planning to visit the Livingston Outlet centre. Also a few places to eat and drink with a 15 minute walk....

A great hotel and good location for the area and also Edinburgh which was very easy to get to by car. The team look after you so well even before you arrive with emails asking for any special requests or needs.

Stayed here for a weekend shopping trip/ 50th birthday party at a friends. The hotel is directly next to the main shopping centres so is in an excellent location. It is a fairly standard, modern hotel with good rooms. The bar prices are outrageous (£9 for a 250ml glass of wine!); the restaurant serves really good dinners and breakfasts. The...

I have stayed here twice on business. I came from Edinburgh airport which is about 20 mins away by car. The staff are very helpful and attentive. I booked their conference room on both stays, the staff make sure you have supplies and check in on you at intervals. I needed to use their projector and screen which worked perfectly....

Situated in the middle of 'no where', and in need of a little TLC - our net curtains were totally creased with hem in tatters. Not a great first impression. The walls could do with a lick of paint - a bit freshening up needed over all. However, and this is a big however, the staff were very attentive, and...

My husband and I had our shared birthday party there on the 15th April this year and we had an amazing time. We particularly returned there because we had our wedding reception there on the 15th July 2006 so nearly ten years. We were looked after every bit as well this time as last time and absolutely nothing was too...
