Outside it feels like a remote corner of northern Skye but inside this super-comfortable B&B Sandy and Margaret host appreciative travellers from all over the world. They do this in style. Sandy is urbane and sociable, taking the time to engage with his guests and make them feel very welcome. Margaret is charming and warm, adding to the feeling of... More

This is a perfect bed and breakfast if you want countryside, a view overlooking the sea, absolute quiet ( except for the standard Skye wind!!!) and truly welcoming hosts. Margaret's homemade cakes and treats in the fridge are so delightful after a day of climbing or exploring! Breakfast was excellent complete with a tray of fresh fruit and yogurt at... More

Sandy and Margaret were excellent hosts. Their house is perched right on the waters edge with sweeping views of Uig harbor. The rooms were very clean and stocked with coffees, teas and sweets homemade by Margaret. We got in after the restaurants in the town had closed so we picked up some food at a local grocery store and they... More

We recently used Cuil Lodge as part of our small group tours of Scotland. We did not actually stay in the house on our first visit, but were lucky enough to stay on our second. We stay in serviced accommodation over 240 nights of the year and staying with Sandy and Margaret was a first class experience. The are both... More

Imagine a small seaside town at the bay with a ferry port, where live is not governed by the ticking of the clock, but by the arrival of the ferry two times a day. Imagine a home overlooking the bay towards the ferry terminal. Imagine peaceful sunsets, where the sky turns slowly crimson and the stars come out. Imagine two... More

The large house has a lovely view, from the lounges and bedrooms, across the bay to Uig harbour. The rooms are a good size as are the bathrooms. There are three very nice guest lounges. The well one is very warm with tea and home made cakes. There are lovely homemade chocolates in your room. The breakfast choices are many... More

Very friendly and helpful owners, Sandy and Margaret are such jewels. You will feel welcome from the start and so happy you chose this B&B. Breakfasts are amazing...full Scottish if you wish, continental breakfast, or go with poached eggs and smoked salmon.....Yum. The rooms are very large, and have modern decor. Civil Lodge is beautifully located looking out across Uig Bay to Uig and the ferry terminal. Whilst there we enjoyed a couple of beautiful sunsets. Sandy and Margaret are very friendly and made us feel at home. Our room was very large, very comfortable, very well equipped and very clean. Although we didn't have a full loch view we could... My wife and I recently spent one night at the Cuil Lodge and from the warm friendly greeting through to a genuine "thank you for having chosen us" the hosts were excellent. The entire B&B appears to have been recently upgraded and certainly has been one of the best quality B&B we have stayed in during our Scotland vacation. The... More

Sandy and Margaret made us feel like guests in their home from the moment we arrived. We arrived fairly late after a long, and wet trip from hiking in the Glencoe Valley. Margaret greeted us with a pot of tea and homemade banana muffins. We slipped off to bed and sleep in a moment. We awoke to breathtaking views of... More
