A very welcoming hotel. The room was cosy and clean, small shower room, good view. There's a little outdoor seating area which was a sun trap. The lounge area also has a good view and had plenty of space but still allowed for a chat with fellow hotel guests. The food at breakfast was delicious and generous, and they went the extra mile to accommodate preferences that weren't on the menu. Dinner was outstanding. Neil was amazing running everything front of house - all table service, lounge service, outdoor service, hotel concierge, receptionist, manager, all of it, and still had time to share his knowledge and advice. His whisky recommendations were great! And the food on the two nights we ate there was incredible. Well presented, great flavours and really innovative and imaginative combinations without being weird. Very tasty and great value.

Dear foodie_8127 Thank you so much for your recent review of your stay at Toravaig House. It was an absolute delight and a pleasure to look after you during your stay with us. Tess in our kitchen does a wonderful job, the creativity she brings to her dishes are just wonderful and she will be delighted that you enjoyed this at breakfast and even more so at dinner. There are many hats to wear working in a small hotel and I am very pleased that I achieved this and that I made time for you too. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the whole experience and we shall most look forward to welcoming you back with open arms soon

A very pleasant and comfortable small hotel. The staff were very welcoming, informative and attentive - almost too much so over breakfast. The room we had was comfortable, clean and well decorated and furnished. As with many older buildings like this, where en suite bathrooms appear to have been added from the original design, the room size is somewhat compromised. The bathroom itself although well fitted was rather compact and it was difficult to actually stand in front of the mirror at the wash basin. The room price is therefore very top end for what you actually get. The fixed price dinner was well presented and tasty but very nouvelle cuisine in style leaving one feeling rather short changed for the price ( £50 per head). After an energetic day walking a more substantial meal would have been welcome for the price paid. Overall, a lovely place and staff, but expensive for what it is.

Dear Bobba1 Thank you so much for your recent review. Toravaig is a lovely intimate hotel where we have 9 individual bedrooms all unique and different in decor and size, you are correct in what you have said that changes have been made to the building to make best use of the space that each of our rooms have to which you agreed by the well fitted bathroom. We like to think that we offer the best of highland hospitality that we can and our wonderful staff are most gracious in making sure that our guests needs are met and on many occasions exceeded. Our chefs have created wonderul dishes with the best of locally sourced produce where the fresh and colourful flavours and textures come alive on the palate. If you did require anything extra to eat we are more than happy to provide extra breads with dinner and you could also have the cheese as a course before pudding and even nibbles in the lounge before your meal. Thank you so much for your comments and we wish you well on your future travels

We had a lovely time at this hotel. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel very much at home. It was the first week they had opened and they managed to get everything right. The food in the restaurant was wonderful - we had dinner and breakfast. The kedgeree at breakfast was incredible!! Chloe was really helpful in the booking process but very helpful. When we come back to Skye we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you to the whole team!

We have just spent 2 nights at Toravaig House Hotel & really enjoyed it. Our room was spotless & had a lovely view. Bathroom was obviously recently done & very clean. Lovely toiletries too. The staff were attentive & friendly, however the young Australian chap was by far the most chatty & informative on the area. We ate dinner on the first night which was absolutely lovely & the meal or service couldn’t be faulted. However, we did think the menu was very over-priced. We ate in a place in Portree the following evening which was half the price & just as nice. We really enjoyed our stay & would definitely return in the future.

the most expensive, but least welcoming place of the stay in Scotland. The sea view room had a glimpse in the distance of water through a small window. The rooms adequate size, though in no way spacious as one would expect for the premium being paid. The rooms themselves were done up to the proverbial nines with modern decor, but that does not make up for an extremely small bathroom or lack of storage. There were adequate power points for charging your devices, including ones adjacent to a desk. The WiFi signal was Ok throughout, but speed seemed to be poor most of the time. The selection of food for breakfast was adequate, but the quality and preparation was lacking. How can you make cold eggs, burnt and cold toast, undercooked or other burnt or overcooked items. Oh, the fruit salad for breakfast ended up being almost all watermelon with half a grape and a few slices of apple. This was extremely poor and the biggest let down for the most expensive place.
