The welcome was warm and friendly; our two night break got off to a good start. From there it just continued to improve, the room was comfortable and cosy with little extras. There was a pleasant residents lounge with a computer for guests. Then just when you thought things couldn't get better we went for dinner and realised that Jo...

I never write reviews, but I actually feel it is my duty to write a review on highland cottages. I will do my best to write an unbiased point of view with as much honesty as I can summon. Basically, the long and the short of my review without complaining about each and every annoying little detail is that highland...

Having first visited Dave and Jo at the Highland Cottage over ten years ago, our return visit to dine did not diminish in its pleasure and excellence . Jo's standards have only got better, if that were possible and I cannot think that there is a more satisfying venue to enjoy good food in Mull. Cheap it is not, even...

What a delightful place. Old world courtesy while feeling welcome and cared for. Dave and Jo were so helpful and kind. They not only recommended an exceptional near by boat trip but booked it and made us a great packed lunch! The room was beautifully furnished with all kinds of quirky and interesting décor/memorabilia. Jo is an exceptional cook- I...

The food was absolutely superb. We were a little concerned it might be a bit awkward with only one other couple dining, but it really didn't matter. David was so welcoming and friendly without being nosy or over the top. The broad bean and parmesan veloute we had as an appetiser was one of the best things I've eaten. The...

Charming, comfortable, quirky, spotless.....and food punching way over weight for such a small hotel! Great location too. We had a lovely break and Highland Cottage ticked all the boxes. Dave and Jo are just lovely, friendly and welcoming, but not invasive. Our room was lovely, spotless and very comfortable, with tea, coffee, biscuits, good quality toiletries - the view of...

My mum and I spent 2 nights in this hotel, enjoying the wonderful hospitality of Dave and Jo and had a wonderful time. The hotel is small and a little bit quirky which only adds to its charm. it's location is perfect, just a 5 minute walk down to Tobermory Main Street. In my opinion what makes Highland Cottage is...

High quality accommodation in a beautiful setting with a great attention to detail. Food genuinely worthy of the fine-dining tag. Jo and Dave make for superb hosts. Thanks for making our stay so pleasant with such a personal feel.

We've eaten a couple of times over the years at Highland Cottage and always had a superb meal. This year for our wedding anniversary hubbie surprised me with an overnight stay and evening meal. After a very warm welcome by Jo, (fresh out the kitchen with timers pinging but not at all hassled), we were shown to our room, Ulva,...

I stayed one night here along with my sister and husband. The bedroom was fairly small (2 single beds) and very tired looking. The bathroom was quite shabby - the bath sealant needed replacing and the shower screen had black along the bottom edge. This was easily wiped off with one of the face cloths!! When I came to use...
