To me, the mark of an excellent accommodation is as much about hospitality is it is about comfort. The Highland Cottage gets high marks on both counts. The rooms (and beds) are comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and Jo and Dave were wonderful hosts. They helped us with our touring itinerary and with scheduling ferry reservations. The optional dinner at...

My partner and I have stayed at Highland Cottage on many occasions. We love the comfortable cosy rooms, lovely guest lounge and of course the food. Joe and David always make us so welcome and even though we hadn't been for a couple of years greater us like old friends and remembered everything about us. Mull is such a special...

Tobermory lovely little town and highland cottage an excellent place to stay. Hosts Dave and Jo made us very welcome. Rooms very comfortable, good, well cooked breakfast choices. Choice of 2 lounges to relax in. Would definitely visit again.

We had a fantastic night staying at the Highland Cottage. Dave and Jo were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome and passed on very helpful local knowledge. The room and bathroom were both great. We chose to have dinner at the Highland Cottage which was one of the best meals of our trip. The food was absolutely delicious,...

I was determined to get off the beaten path during my recent two-week stay in Scotland. And Tobermory was well worth the journey – a train to Glasgow from Edinburgh, switching to another train to Oban, then grabbing the ferry across to the Isle of Mull, and finally a bus that zipped me to Tobermory. And greeting me at the...

Mull can be a challenge with its predominantly single track roads. The obligatory "pilgrimage" to Iona entailed a long drive from Craignure to Fionnphort and just as long back again to Tobermory. Stunning scenery notwithstanding, by the time we arrived at Highland Cottage we were in the mood for some serious TLC, and we were not disappointed. David and Jo...

If you enjoy gourmet food but feel that most places give small portions, then this is the place for you. Especially amazing because there are not a series of chefs helping just Jo in the kitchen and David front of house. Because of this, there is a certain need for guests to be certain of the times they will be...

A small very well run boutique hotel. The rooms are first class and want for nothing, Very comfortable bed,Tea making facilities, biscuits, fresh fruit,T/V,iPod dock, superb bathing provision(with luxurious toiletries) bathrobes etc. You get the picture, nothing is left to chance for your stay here. When we review the catering this must be one of the hidden gems of the Isles.Every meal was a...

Stayed here for three nights over the Easter weekend, in the Tiree room. It was the first weekend that the place was open after the winter break, so there were still a few kinks to be ironed out, main problem being with the shower, which had been renovated but improperly installed by the plumber, resulting in only scalding hot water...

Just left after a 3 night stay. Wonderful hosts with great attention to detail. We had a cozy four poster bedroom and really enjoyed the tasty home cooked food. The hosts were warm and friendly people and on hand with lots of information to help us get the most out of our stay. Only thing to watch for is the...
