Absolutely wonderful wardens, serving the perfect home-cooked, tasty breakfast for a whisky-tasting day! Eggs, bacon, sausages, haggis..... and so on. Spacious comfy rooms with either a sea view or a green yard view. Coffee and tea available in rooms. You just may get a drum for breakfast! Central in Bowmore with several restaurants and bars close by. Highly recommended!
We stayed at Bowmore House on a five day tour of Islay arranged by Scottish Routes. What a wonderful place to stay in Islay. The location, about a block from most restaurants, can’t be beaten. The rooms are a quiet respite from days of touring and the hosts, Andrew and Alison couldn’t be more hospitable. The lodgings were impeccably clean, our room was large enough to relax in and it came complete with a beautiful view of the water. If (when) I return to Islay, this is where I intend to stay.
Spent 4 nights at the Bowmore House as part of a tour. The view from our room was beautiful. Lovely accommodations, very caring and helpful hosts. We started each day with amazing breakfasts and hospitality. Thank you Andrew and Allison we hope to be back!
Andrew and Allison are superb hosts. Andrew met our tour group in their car park carrying a tray of whisky drams as a welcome and explained the safety rules of the house in these covid times. Our room was large and quiet, bedding and towels were new and of good quality, the bathroom was immaculate and modern. The room was amply stocked with snacks, cold drinks, toiletries, and even more drams of whisky! A large and succulent cooked breakfast was delivered to our room each morning and we sat at the table in the bay window watching the waterfront while we ate. What a lovely place to linger and what lovely hosts. Thank you both.
What a lovely B & B! The hosts were lovely, the rooms were big and well appointed, and hot breakfast was delicious. It is everything you could want when touring Islay. We stayed here as part of a whisky tour (also amazing) and we were treated so well, including being greeted by a dram when we arrived. The views from the house, built in 1898, were amazing. Bowmore is a lovely town, and the Bowmore House is wonderful.
