A warm welcome awaits at check in which is very quick.
The single rooms are very small but adequate. The whole building is very clean.
The bed was comfy.
Wifi is a bit slow so we couldn’t FaceTime back home.
Breakfast was excellent.
We had a 1 night stay in 2 separate rooms. Our 4-poster was large but in need of updating - water stained ceiling, no plug for the bathtub and rather dirty carpet. All in all, not a bad accommodation but it misses the mark as...More
Out for the day in Tain whilst holidaying in Embo and it was a hot day so needed a cold refreshment. Mum and I were shopping and the boys found this hotel and then we joined them as well .

Check in smooth, allocated room on 2nd floor. Room fairly well appointed with a nice view down the high street, hotel itself is a 300 yrs old build oozing with character, however it’s age is starting to show.
Dinner was very good, however with only...More
Our room on the second floor was comfortable. There are no lifts to the bedrooms. An iron and ironing board was in the room which we appreciated.

Hello there, apologies I did not see your question earlier. I was quite surprised by the hotel as I kind of expected the same, but it was very quiet when we were there, the restaurant was ok, however I'd recommend the restaurant by the station. It is ageing a bit, but the friendly staff and location more than made up for it as it was nice to be central. I believe the place was very busy at one point when the oil was booming, however the the terminal nearby has pretty much all but closed its door and I believe the whole town is quieter due to this. I was just in a single room, which was a bit on the small side, but I'd imagine the family rooms would be a lot larger. There is no smoking in the hotel by law (UK laws now). My room was cleaned daily. I dare say there is better hotels around Tain, however they're a bit of a distance. I was happy, but was only there on business. I hope this is of some help to you guys, and that you enjoy your trip, it is what you make of it that counts :)
