I paid 282£ for 2 nights in their top room which included a small cooked breakfast which was very nice. Not buffet style so you have to take the small portions you're given. Dinner was included but it was very plain and quite tasteless. The hotel caters for coach tours presumably because it's the only way to get people there....

Lovely hotel and Strathpeffer is a really nice little village, well worth visiting. The Highland Hotel has a grand facade and staircase. Our room was newly decorated and, as it was a standard room, had functional furniture, tea and coffee making facilities and a very comfortable bed. The hard working staff were lovely and very helpful. Of the 3 days...

We have just returned from a four night stay at the Highland Hotel and excellent is the only word to describe it. On arrival very friendly reception staff gave clear directions to our room . The room was one of the biggest we have ever had at a Bay hotel. Large wardrobe and plenty of drawers , two easy chairs...

Visited this hotel as part of a coach tour with Shearings. Has been a grand old building in its day but now in need of a bit of upgrading. Room large with adequate furnishings. Had three beds therefore I assume it was a family room. No shower in bathroom. Only a hand held shower head which is not very convenient...

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Highland Hotel. We have stayed at many Bay Hotels and this was one of the best we have stayed in - the usual oldish building which gives large bedrooms with high ceilings and a very large reception/lounge area, which is nicely divided off into separate areas They have done a lot...

Stepping into the hotel, we were met by a very friendly receptionist who gave us directions to our room. The room itself was like something from the 70's, however it was very clean and comfy. The food in the bar was very reasonably priced and delicious! The evening entertainment was certainly aimed at an older audience (the clue was in...

Lovely hotel in nice surroundings and not far from the lovely village of Strathpeffer. The hotel has been nicely redecorated in keeping with its traditional style. The food is very good, except the first meal which wasn't very hot, but we did arrive at 8.30 after a 10 hour coach journey so it wasn't a problem. The room was large,...

This is an older hotel that caters mostly to tour groups that are generally up and out by a certain time in the morning, such that breakfast (which is included) is limited and bit rushed but the quality was always good. Would have liked the option of black pudding with my fry up! We had upgraded to a slightly bigger...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Peacefully set in its own grounds with lovely views over the colourful village square, this chateau style hotel’s traditional features have been carefully retained to strike just the right Highland note. A warm welcoming feeling comes as much from the friendly staff as from the fine wood panelled public rooms which have been carefully preserved. Strathpeffer itself is just steps away from the hotel and is renowned as an attractive Highland spa resort with fabulous Victorian architecture. Be sure to enjoy the scenic views of the village below from the open veranda. The massive peak of Ben Wyvis is the backdrop to this charming village. It’s a perfect base from which to explore Scotland’s dramatic Northern Highlands – mountainous countryside, sparkling streams, waterfalls and golden shores. ... more   less
