Just got back from a National Holidays stay at this hotel and from start to finish the staff were very attentive. Three course meal every night with plenty of choice, food was fab and the waiting staff were very polite (I think the girl who served us was Aurelia?) Entertainment was similar every night. Particularly enjoyed the Highland dancers. The...

Travelled as a couple with Shearings coach holidays. After a long journey up to the Bay Highland Hotel we were greeted by all the friendly staff there and given a delicious three course meal virtually straight away. It is a lovely hotel with plenty of the original features and very clean throughout. The bedroom was modern, clean and warm and...

A friend and I stayed at this hotel as part of a coach tour with Shearings. It is a lovely hotel with most of the original features intact. The majority of the public rooms are wood paneled, the staircase is magnificent and some of the stain glass windows are still in situ. Although the hotel claims to be art neuvo,...

Stayed here from 30th jan-3rd feb, the first room I was given had no shower but they changed it on request. The rooms are very comfortable and warm. The breakfast has everything you could ask for, every kind of cereal, fruits, prunes, orange, and apple juice. All the cooked items that go to make a English breakfast, plus tea and...

Room large and warm. Bathroom modern, large and warm. Everywhere very clean. Food very good. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Excellent location. The niggles? Public areas chilly. Two of the three entertainers we saw weren't very good - one, who also did the bingo, rather boring, and played very similar sounding accordion tunes throughout his stint. Lacked coordination with dancers...

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and found the hotel to be clean and enjoyed the food. It's great to hear you found the staff friendly and helpful, they all work very hard and this kind of feedback is appreciated. Staff helpful. Rang the hotel before travelling to advise them of my gluten intolerance. Breakfast time was brilliant for me and was shown evening meal menu, good choices for 3course meal. Could not fault the food along with presentation. Paid a little extra for room upgrade worth the money. Hotel is lovely and spacious, couldn't fault it. Travelled with Shearings...

I stayed here in November 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel looks really lovely and the gardens are great for a walk around. The food was really good with waitress service for the evening meal and buffet style full breakfast. Large ballroom and bar area with entertainment, quieter room and TV lounge with Sky. The actual bar was...

This was our second Christmas at this hotel with Shearings. We were there in 2015 and loved it. We were not disappointed this year. The only small issue this time was that our room was very cold when we first arrived. However the reception staff lost no time in providing us with a heater which resolved the problem quickly and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Peacefully set in its own grounds with lovely views over the colourful village square, this chateau style hotel’s traditional features have been carefully retained to strike just the right Highland note. A warm welcoming feeling comes as much from the friendly staff as from the fine wood panelled public rooms which have been carefully preserved. Strathpeffer itself is just steps away from the hotel and is renowned as an attractive Highland spa resort with fabulous Victorian architecture. Be sure to enjoy the scenic views of the village below from the open veranda. The massive peak of Ben Wyvis is the backdrop to this charming village. It’s a perfect base from which to explore Scotland’s dramatic Northern Highlands – mountainous countryside, sparkling streams, waterfalls and golden shores. ... more   less
