We were stopped off here on our Caledonian boat trip, the staff were so friendly adn cheeful that they made us feel like we were in their own home, the Landlord came over had a chat and welcomed us. The food was excellent, we had the fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw, all fabulous! Definitely worth a... More

Went in twice for drinks, served quickly and even though it was raining we were able to sit outside as there is a large cover above the tables. Staff were nice and friendly and we went back the next day as well.

Had lunch here, best fish & chips I've ever had. Kids had mac & cheese & loved it. Staff were so welcoming, especially the landlord. Ended up here after being turned away from another couple of places in Fort Augustus, one because they had stopped serving food (at lunch time?!) & the other as they didn't have high chairs. But... Stopped at the Richmond House Hotel for late lunch after a day after exploring round Loch Ness. Looking for something to eat that was not going to cost an arm and a leg due to being in a tourist trap. Staff were welcoming and although they were busy it felt very warm and welcoming. Ordered the Steak and Ale pie... More

Ate in the pub restaurant here. The steak pie, like so many 'pub pies' nowadays is stewed steak, topped with a puff pastry flake, not the gravy-infused shortcrust pastry you'd hope for, The fish batter, of the fish n' chips was anaemic, though the fish was cooked. Very, very expensive for what it was but this appears to be a... More

We happened to pop in on the first night of our log cabin week by the Loch, a lovely friendly welcome by Alan and his team, good food, good service and friendly locals and we were lucky to be there when they had live Scottish music on. And I would say the friendliest pub in Fort Augustus, thank you.

A last minute trip to Fort Augustus with the misses and not booked anywhere. On arrival in the fort we first came across the Richmond house hotel. In the bar we were met by Alan who introduced himself and confirmed they had rooms. He took s and showed both rooms available. Both very nice and we decided to stay. Anyone... More

Room was ok (not too clean and pleasant, but bearable for one night). But in relation to the price, the room was definitely too uncomfortable. We had a triple room, directly above the pub (very loud in the night) and with a window to the main road (very loud in the morning). The bathroom was not en-suit, so we had... More
