There are a few places like this in the world - Scotland has Skibo Castle. To extol the merits of this establishment would mean I would go on and on and on about the quality, the level of consideration for you made by the elite staff, and attention to detail in everything from your bar of soap to your ....

Surrounded by the Dornoch Firth on one side and partially by Loch Evelix on the other, this course is a winner. Well kept greens maintained by the knowledgable Greenkeepers, anyone playing this course could only be impressed by yet another spectacular golf course in this area. Mr Carnegie picked a beautiful spot!

I have held off reviewing Skibo because it is a very special and unusual place but I review many other spots and it feels unfair to the team not to write a review. The first thing to say is that Skibo is not a hotel it is a club. That brings real strength so if you like a personal, unique...

Happily, we only paid greens fees. Our host covered lunch and gave us a tour of Skibo Castle afterward. And so, since price wasn't a consideration, it is easy to compliment everything about the experience. The golf course is underrated; it really represents a great and beautiful challenge. The clubhouse and amenities are outstanding. The lunch was excellent. And staying...

Very fortunate to be able to stay a few days since it is a members only property. It is run in a superb way giving one the impression that one is a house guest in a castle of a bygone era. The standard of care and attention could not be improved and all the rooms are beautifully decorated with superb...

Four of us played golf and had lunch. An outstanding location in the Highlands was complemented by attentive and friendly staff who could not do too much for you. The food options were fabulous but not over-stated - a perfect day. I may not get the fortune to visit Skibo ever again, but I feel so privileged to have been...

No airs and graces but a quiet confidence to every level of service. Food beyond belief. Swimming pool just incredible (we had it to ourselves every time of using), try it at night in the winter, wear goggles, breast stroke, look down. See the pin point colours reflected off the steel bottom zoom by. Amazing. Quad biking very good, they...

By far the best castle experience I have had. Very personal, private and exclusive. Majestic Scottish castle in the middle of nowhere which huge land including fishing lakes, golf course etc. The castle itself is in superb condition and the rooms are incredible. Very large, with beautiful old style furniture. Many with excellent views of the property. Large bathrooms with...

We were guests, for a long weekend. So, so lucky. The weather was warm for time of year but very windy. Golf a total delight. Hotel and service....just amazing. Lots of lively little touches that make the place really special. Last night we were the only guests in the hotel ahead of build up to Christmas. Swimming pool is fabulous....
