Arrived at the Hoy Hotel long after the last ferry back to the mainland had gone only to find the hotel we'd booked and confirmed in adavance was closed. Managed to raise the owner's son from inside and he tod us they had no booking but showed him the e-mail. "Oh, that's happened before". He made little or no attempt...

Hi, I would like to thank you for your feedback. We did eventually find your booking in our paperwork, we have had a bad start to the year with a water leak in the kitchen and our hotel has been closed far a few months, as you would have noticed that the kitchen was in the process of being cleaned...

Warm clean and comfortable room, delicious food, impeccable service what more can I say. The staff were great, but Pete the chef deserves a special mention, not only did he cook the food to order but served it quickly and professionally. Not only is he a walking tourist information, but he is also a laugh a minute.

We have not stayed at the hotel, but have visited the bar/cafe/restaurant a few times on our ways to walks on the middle/North of the Island, and had nice vegetarian food (and the person said they could make us vegan meals if we asked in advance). Having spent quite a time in Spain, where glasses of wine are only about...

Very friendly and helful. Good food and great Orkney beers. The wonderful lady in the bar even offered us transportation to our next destination when she was unable to get in touch with the taxi service. For a break in Hoy, this is the place!

On arriving on Hoy via the 8.00am ferry we were ready for a hot drink and something to eat. We immediately came across the Hoy Hotel and attempted to make our way in. We were greeted by someone working in the kitchen, the owner I presume. I explained we would like a hot cuppa and a sandwich only to be...

Myself and my lads have stayed at the Hoy Hotel on a couple of occasions whilst working on the island. The hotel is good, with clean comfortable rooms, free good quality signal wifi, nice food and breakfasts and a well stocked and welcoming bar. But the best thing about the Hoy Hotel is Pete the Chef. He cooks fresh meals...

On arrival at this hotel on our bicycles it was a hard job to persuade our ladies to stay, but as accommodation on the island is in short supply we did stay. Peter the cook and receptionist was very welcoming and he produced very good scallops and fresh fish and chips for dinner. He could not have been more helpful....
