#2 of 2 hotels in Lossiemouth
A warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel in Lossiemouth. A great relaxed family friendly atmosphere exists at this hotel and is frequented by many returning guests and locals alike. The breathtaking view from the front of hotel overlooks the Moray Firth and beyond to the Cromarty Firth and to the hills of Caithness. The hotel is directly opposite the ancient Moray Golf Club, and is ideally situated for exploring the Coastal, Castle or Whisky trail, as well as being well situated for visiting the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen and surrounding area. The Stotfield Hotel has recently undergone a refreshing transformation of many of its bedrooms and also the ground floor guest area. However, this historic hotel retains many of its original character and features from 1895, including the fantastic sweeping staircase and period revolving front door. During your stay you can enjoy free access to high speed wireless broadband throughout the hotels public areas, free car parking (limited spaces available, ample on street parking adjacent to the hotel) but most of all comfortable and relaxed surroundings.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel in September 2020 the hotel room was very drab and the paintwork was filthy and stained the bathroom was very dark with cracked tiles and dirty shower curtain the food menu was repetitive couldn't wait to leave. It was full of workers from the local airbase under construction. The only thing going for it was the view.

Popped up for work, a colleague had booked the room and was happy having stayed previously. Parking is limited, but there's plenty along the street. Reception and bar/restaurant are clean and stylish and look out to sea, which is nice. The guys working here are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Food was also tip top. Room was clean, telly worked and also had a sea view. The bathroom was clean also. OK, the the bathroom suite is dated, big deal, it all worked well. Its cheap, the views are stunning and I'll happily recommend staying here. Some folk will complain for complainings sake...

Let's get straight to the honest truth. You ARE NOT GETTING The Waldorf Astoria in New York at these prices. What you do get is a hotel which is a substantial Scottish Baronial building with exquisite sea views. A hotel where you can sea dolphins frolicking from your bedroom and dining room. I am a Virgo and a fussy nitpicker!!!! This place, with free parking and a panoramic sea view from the dining room, and superior bedroom was almost perfect. For the money paid it was actually better than perfect. I find it hard to believe any off the bedrooms were dirty, but we were only in one so our opinion is of room 224. It was clean and bright. OK there was a small crack in the sink. BIG DEAL. The staff were friendly. The food was nice and the prices, in my humble opinion, were less than they should have been. Three great comfy nights sleep on good bedding. We will recommend this place to friends & family and go back again some day soon.

The hotel appears nice from the outside and the public areas are bright and clean. However the room was filthy. There was a spider (see photograph) beside the bed, dust everywhere, no vacuuming. Walls were stained. Bathroom was mouldy and dirty. The room was not serviced throughout our 3 night stay.
