It is relatively easy to find a hotel which is good. To find one which is superb and consistently superb is much harder. My wife and 2 large dogs and I had a wonderful stay at the Ramnee back in October. It was so good in fact that we had no hesitation whatsoever in assuming the responsibility of inviting 2 friends and their 2 dogs to come with us the very second the regulations allowed. There are some hotels which accept dogs: there are very few which are truly dog friendly. We had 2 adjacent rooms on the ground floor backing onto the gorgeous garden. This was great for us as my German Shepherd is getting on a bit and finds stairs difficult , as do I. Very convenient were a call of nature to demand a sharp exit during the night! There is a massive grassy park and woodland just across the road, but the garden and grounds are so large there is really no need to venture further. The rooms were cosy, spotlessly clean and the beds extremely comfortable. The food is superb, and the portions large. My vegan requests were met and the menu extensive despite Monday being the first day open after a very long lockdown. The staff were really friendly, funny and efficient. One member of staff came in her own time to introduce her dog to ours: Chris the hotel owner brought his dog down from his rooms for the photoshoot too! Such friendly people were the icing on the cake of a really exceptionally good break. We certainly hope to return as soon as we can.

We are so delighted you enjoyed your stay so much in week one after lockdown. Your reports on a friendly and professional staff are honestly the view of the vast majority of our guests, that we offer an excellent break from the world while our staff pamper you. We do hope to see you again soon and keep bringing more guests with their pets! We would be also delighted to see them. We always have vegetarian and vegan options.

Stayed a couple of nights, for a funeral with the family. The rooms was comfortable, spacious, there was small menu for our evening meal, Which was delicious! it was a very sad time but made slightly more bearable because of this hotel and it’s Attentive staff.

We had a lovely one night stay at the RAMNEE. The room we had was huge, very clean but a bit tired. The view over to Cluny Hill was super with the autumn colours. Our evening meal was delicious with the chef accommodating my request to change part of the dish. Lovely chatty Val behind the bar brought a happy birthday treat from the kitchen. A lovely stay - I’d recommend the RAMNEE for a stay in Forres!

We have often stopped for a coffee or a drink whilst heading North or upon returning home. It has always been my ambition to stay in the Ramnee: my wife and two dogs and I have just got back from a three night break. We were not disappointed! Beautiful atmospheric Edwardian house, but most importantly for me extremely dog friendly. The gardens and grounds were all my German Shepherd and Great Dane needed- the large Grant Park across the road and the wonderful Sanquhar Pond very close to the hotel were bonus extras. The dogs thought they were in Heaven and are now totally whacked! All the staff were really pleasant and helpful suggesting even more walks at Findhorn and Blair Loch. Our room was spotless, the beds comfortable, the water hot and TV, hairdryer and kettle all worked as they should have done. The food was really good and it was no problem for me to get vegan food at breakfast and at dinner. Thank you for a great stay. Eight paws and four thumbs up!

Thank you so much for your feedback which is honestly the opinion of the vast majority of guests, that our staff do care and provide a high level of customer care. No hotel is perfect and ours is indeed a heritage hotel with minimal interference to provide the Edwardian ambience you talk of. It isn't a chain hotel where each room is the same. The dog friendly policy is very popular and our delicious menu is certainly creating waves locally like the tiramisu and vegan choices too. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you and the dogs on another trip!

Two night stay in this beautiful Edwardian Mason. Many features of the original house remain giving the hotel a lovely ambiance. Some reviews mention that the hotel is a little tired. While I cannot disagree it was immaculately clean and the lack of modernisation can be accepted given the age of the building. Some bedrooms do not match the photos on the website as our first assigned room while be adequate didn't match our expectations. The duty manager was very accommodating and managed to find us a delightful room with fantastic views over Findhorn. What made this visit special was the staff and the food. There was a very small team on due to the current restrictions having a devastating impact on their occupany rates. The team were very accommodating and friendly making us feel very welcome. At dinner we thoroughly enjoyed both evening meals. The burger and venison were our favourites. Great cooking! The Breakfast despite having ro order the night before, and no buffet due to covid19 restrictions, surpassed all expectations! In particular the porridge and French toast were cooked by someone who loves and appreciates food. Would return just for breakfast! So all in all a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Thank you so much for your feedback which no matter what guests leave us, really helps us to improve the guest experience. Our hotel goes the extra mile for all guests and we continually seek to lift the bar, even in a pandemic and with so many restrictions on us. I am glad you appreciated the heritage look because since taking over last year, we have deliberately not undertaken large alteration, since this is the overwhelming feedback we get, not to change anything. People have loved Ramnee Hotel for decades and it will stay that way I am sure. Once we exit from the pandemic we do hope to continue renewing our rooms in decor etc but until then we will maintain the scrupulously clean housekeeping regime! Do come again soon.
