Trying to give local hotel some business, despite unable to sit in. Freezing outside, it is only 1 May, and this is Scotland. Chose what looked like warmest table. List of instructions on small table, sanitiser, QPR Code, all a put-off. Daughter reluctant as 'freezing'. Went to sit down, manager in mask (outside!) proceeds to start reeling off list of conditions, including QPR code. I point out we are OUTSIDE breathing God's fresh air. Daughter, brainwashed by the school and media, takes umbrage and walks off. Afternoon ruined. Hotel just lost local business and reputation. Hospitality needs to get a grip, it is dead in the water. 'Hospitality' means something, it means comfort, warmth, relaxation. What kind of a 'hospitality' experience was that? And why are they doing QPR codes outside? It is God's fresh air, nae limits. Hospitality is finished.

This is our 3rd hotel stay up in/near Forres within a month and this was definitely the best so far. Why? The food is superb. The portion sizes aren't huge but that is good as over eating is easy to do and bad for you. The service is excellent, very attentive but not intrusive. Good size rooms and good shower power. We left a special pillow behind as well and it was posted back very cheerfully and speedily. Definitely we'll be going back.

Knockomie Inn is a 1914 arts and crafts building on the edge of Forres in its own grounds. We stayed two nights at the end of August. The welcome was warm. Our room was ready - large with a really comfortable bed, sofa and hand painted wardrobe and dressing table. The shower room was spotless. Penny and Gavin are blessed with a young staff who know and understand customer service. We were on a special DBB deal and, as promised in the advert the prosecco was on ice! There is a restaurant and bar and a sitting room for guests with a number of log burning fires. Dinner and breakfast were great. For me the sign of a good breakfast menu is eggs benedict, which were on the menu. Any downside? Being a 110 y/o listed building window frames were a bit draughty but the heating made up for this. A great hideaway for a weekend or longer with so much beautiful coast and countryside around as well as distilleries.

Lovely rooms and excellent food. Staff were extremely helpful and implemented a full range of protection systems to make our stay feel safe and secure during the current Pandemic. Location is excellent for touring the local area.

We don’t often write reviews, but we felt we had to due to the excellent experience we had at Knockomie!! We just returned from a visit to the Speyside region of Scotland. We stayed in Knockomie Hotel and would highly recommend it. The location was central to all that we wanted to see— the whisky trail, the sea, and castles. The owners and staff were amazing. The customer service we were provided was top notch and everyone was friendly, warm and welcoming. We got the breakfast and dinner package and all of the food options we had were first class and fresh and locally sourced. This was our first trip since the lockdown was lifted and we were looking for a place that was following the government guidelines. Knockomie definitely was the right choice. The staff all wore masks, there was hand sanitizer all around, seating times for breakfast and dinner were spread out to limit the numbers in the dining area, how food and drinks were served and no one came into our room once we checked in were just a few examples of ways they were working to keep us and them safe. If you are looking for a place to stay with the personal touch, great location, outstanding service and superb food and drinks then we would highly recommend Knockomie Hotel!!!
