Our room was clean, fresh and had tea / coffee making facilities as well as a lovely harbour view. We dined in the Inn on the evening of our stay and the meal was absolutely delicious with excellent service. The following day, an hour or so after we had departed, I received a call to say that my rain jacket had been left behind and the owner very kindly posted it back without charge, simply asking that I make a donation charity, which I have done. I would happily recommend this Inn to anyone visiting the area.
Local restaurant in Findhorn serving good quality food. Recommend the Cullen skink and the small portion is more than ample and filling. Food did not take long to arrive at all. Food was delicious, local produce and reasonably priced. Finn, the owner was extremely helpful and showed us the whisky bar. Great range of whiskies and gin too but unfortunately I was driving. There is an outdoor seating area but it was too cold to sit outside that day. I see they also do afternoon tea but not sampled that …..yet. Premises adhered to COVID-19 regulations ensuring customer and staff safety. Recommended.
We had not booked and the restaurant was very busy but they were able to accommodate us. We sat in the outdoor seating which had a lovely view town to the waterfront. Waiting staff were helpful and polite and able to answer any queries we had. The food was outstanding and quite clearly freshly cooked to order. Waiting time for the food reflected this (approx 30 mins) however we would much rather have a short wait and enjoy the stunning views and have a freshly cooked meal. Covid regulations were upheld 100% and we felt the hotel put customer and staff safety before anything else. We are looking forward to our next visit.
I don’t understand the few negative reviews. This is what it is, a local pub with rooms, it doesn’t pretend to be a soulless chain hotel. It doesn’t have luxury and, yes, the walls are a bit thin. But as a local pub with good rooms and quality food, it’s all relative. The online menu doesn’t do the food justice because the daily specials with local produce are excellent, and reasonably priced. The staff were also excellent. No breakfast, tea and coffee in the room, but the nearby Captain’s Table is very good with plenty of healthy options and a terrific view overlooking Findhorn Bay. As for the owner, Fin, he seems to be a marmite figure. As far as we were concerned, he was very accommodating and helpful. They take COVID seriously and we were fine with that.
Stop for lunch. Soups was delicious. Salad and chips were nice. Ķids menu also nice . My daughter chose macaroni cheese. Friendly waitress. Had a table outside with the outdoor heater, pleasant. Will be back!
