Excellent base for touring Arran. The hosts are helpful and very knowlegable about local walks and restaurants The breakfasts were excellent and the rooms are clean and airy. Within walking distance of the Holy Island ferry and the excellent drift Inn for lunch and evening meals

We found Stonewater House to be a great base for visiting Arran. Rachel's homemade yogurts and Mark's breads were lovely, fresh fruit and the full Scottish if you're up for that! Sound carries in the house, so if that's a problem for you, better go elsewhere. My husband found the double bed a bit small for his six foot frame.... More

Just to echo the previous reviewer. Comfortable beds, good shower and a breakfast that is so plentiful it is more an act of aggression than a meal! Accommodation is excellent and Lamlash a perfect base for the rest of the island. Drying cabinet was helpful in drying out kit from two soggy golfers. Mark and Rachel could not have been... More

Stayed at Stonewater House for 4 nights whilst playing golf on Arran. What can I say? I really don't think you will find a better B&B anywhere, let alone on Arran. The house is kept at a very high standard and the hosts could not be more welcoming or helpful. And the breakfast, WOW! If you are looking for a... More

We booked this at the last minute for the second half of the Easter weekend. Mark and Rachel are a great couple, their talents perfectly complementing each other. Very friendly and helpful (including pointing us to the fantastic Drift Inn). Excellent accommodation, nothing too much trouble and I reckon the best breakfast in the whole of Arran! The only reason... More

Finally made it to Arran in September 2013 having had to postpone due to illness earlier in the year. The owners, Mark and Rachel, were extremely flexible allowing us to easily rearrange the dates and provided a warm welcome on arrival for us and our dog. Our ensuite room (excellent power shower!) was modern and very well furnished, as well... More

My fella and I booked this guesthouse based on these reviews. This was our first trip to and Rachel provided us emailed info on how to get there (easy to get the bus from the ferry). On arrival Rachel shared her local knowledge, which really helped to shape our itinerary for the 3 days. The rooms are light, airy and... More
