My wife and I arrived to a warm welcome from Mrs Adamson. We had walked from Lochranza as part of our conquest of the Arran Coastal Way. Mrs Adamson had kindly booked us a table for dinner at the local hotel. The guest house is a modern bungalow in a development at the edge of the charming village of Blackwaterfoot....

Pat made us feel quite at home. Breakfast was very good, as was her advice to book dinner early as there are only two places to eat in this little town. We were also fascinated by the videos streaming to her TV from a birdhouse mounted on her porch. We could watch the parents feeding and grooming the 5 or...

Laighbent came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint. From the moment I arrived I was made completely at home. Pat was a past captain, single figure handicapper and club champion at nearby Shiskine Golf Club and we had a lot to talk about. Laighbent was ideally located to strike all 7 of the golf courses on the island. Breakfast was...

Mentioned Pat and was given directions. The lady at A'C Cameron PO and Licensed Grocer' also knew Pat as did the man at the adjacent garage. The...

Run by retired farmer called Pat Adamson. A very friendly and helpful lady like many folk on the island of Arran! The room had twin beds and bathroom ensuite. Breakfast is served in one of two rooms and there is a lounge.

We stayed three nights at Laighbent B&B in August 2014. Blackwaterfoot is a quiet, charming place on the West Coast of the beautiful isle of Arran. But as the B&B is just 3 minutes from the bus stop, you can easily get everywhere on the island without a car (well, buses run every one to two hours, it is a...
