Arrived at the Hotel after a 6 hour journey with the rain pouring down for the whole 6 hours so it was nice to get a warm welcome on entering the Red Lion, The room was nice and clean but there was some noise from the road in front of the hotel early in the mornings but nothing to worry... More

Arrived before 3pm to be told we could get into our room, which was nice, as my partner was going onto another job, so I checked in to room 10, very hard bed, and lime scale in shower head and taps was really bad, water pressure was poor, as I had been travelling since 5am, was looking forward to a... Enjoyed an excellent meal out for wife's birthday with friends at the Red Lion, Wareham last week. We both had the pick n mix faggots which were excellent and wholesome and at £10 priced spot on. Excellent ambience (fairly quiet though as midweek), excellent choice of draught real ales and cider and spurits behind the bar. Would definitely come again.

This pub does some of the best lunches in Wareham and I recommend this lovely public house to everyone. Try the steak or cod and chips and you will not be disappointed. Would use this place every time. Rooms are good and reasonable for the price.

We stayed for two nights, to explore this part of Dorset. The hotel is located in the centre of Wareham, and is very convenient for visiting the Tank Museum, and Monkey World. Wareham itself is also very attractive, with a good range of bars and restaurants. We booked bed and breakfast, and the breakfast was outstanding. Anything you wanted from... More

Sadly only stayed one night and would definitely revisit for a longer stay. Lovely, historic building in a picturesque location. Room great with everything you need and friendly atmosphere in the bar. Staff brilliant and couldn't have been more helpful. Best breakfast in a long time! Very handy for Monkey World and Lulworth Cove.

I booked accommodation in the red lion for myself and elderly mother to attend a family funeral close by, I enquired the possibility of an earlier check in, as being midweek thought in may be reasonable, particularly as check out for previous guests is 10.30 am. I recieved (from the owner) a very cold, awkward inflexible response and consequently cancelled... More

Had a lovely meal with very efficient and friendly service. Good old fashioned pub in the heart of the town. We were early so it was very quiet. The food was excellent and sufficient. I had a lovely soup to start, then two main courses and my partner had a great and butter pudding with cream which he said was... More

If you go to this hotel you will find it misses the target. On our visit we never did get to park at the hotel having to park on the street each night. The room smelt musty fortunately the weather was warm so we could have the window open at all times. We had a bath but no shower other... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Red Lion, after years of neglect, has undergone a refurbishment totaling around half a million pounds. The Red Lion now boasts 8 individually designed bedrooms, all of which are en-suite and some are suites. We have a formal restaurant, a relaxed snug dining area and comfortable bar with a great selection of lagers, ales, wines, premium spirits and champagnes. We are situated on the town cross in the centre of Wareham, the gateway to the Jurassic coast. Wareham is beautifully placed to tour the South coast.
