lovely to know this is still a family run hotel - with so much history and in a beautiful setting. you don't miss there not being a TV - you can always put the radio on! the children facilities are excellent, very caring with our new little grand daughter. food was excellent, service was very good, helpful and cheerful staff.... I don't think we've ever stayed anywhere that has so cleverly - and so well - combined everything that toddlers, parents, grandparents, grumpy (child-free) uncles & assorted dogs could wish for in a seaside holiday. The beach is close (& dog friendly all year), there are tennis courts, a good adventure playground, a spa, hot tub, open air pool, games... More

Wow - just returned from a long weekend at Knoll House. We cannot fault it. It was amazing. The staff were very welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. The quality of food was outstanding I've waited for so long to stay at this hotel and was certainly not disappointed- cannot wait till next time. Thank you for welcoming us into... More

The Knoll House is a snapshot of a different time. We have been visiting for more than 30 years and it has taken us through the different phases of life. Young children, growing children, empty nesters, grandparents and dog lovers - at each step the KH has met and more than surpassed our needs. The food has gotten better with... More

On arrival the receptionist was less than helpful. We had to ask the whereabouts of our room! The location is superb and we had wonderful views from our bedroom. However, we were surprised that there were no tea/coffee making facilities. There was a radio but we had to ask for a television. Breakfast was no better than adequate. We had two... More

Dreadful from start to finish. Rude uninterested staff, dubious charging and extremely overpriced for a below average hotel. A great shame as it's setting and history are great. The bar operates old fashioned hours, they don't serve breakfast til 8.00 a.m. I wonder if the owners have given up on the place, they certainly don't seem to care about it... More

Stayed here for two nights with two small children. We took the half board option but you can also go full board option. The staff was very friendly and when we went to have breakfast in the children's dining-room where there was a self help breakfast as well as a cooked breakfast to order. The facilities are very child friendly... More

We have had a family trip to the Knoll House every year for about 15 years now and it never disappoints. Great relaxing break with excellent food and service and friendly staff. Hope to come back for many years yet.

If you are looking for a hotel with traditional standards of hospitality and comfort without the glass and chrome and constant piped music then you must try the Knoll House. The ever courteous and friendly staff complement the delightful lack of formality which soon brings about the realisation that this is somewhere to relax. The unpretentious menu offers delicious choice,... More

Don't take any notice of any of the negative reviews on this place. Come and see for yourself you will have a very pleasant surprise. The ambiance is very warm and friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and the beds are out of this world. Spotlessly clean. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.... More
