What a warm welcome we received at The Smugglers booked a table for 9 and were able to enjoy the sunshine outside The food all came out hot and delicious Great banter with the staff 😄 Surrounding area is stunning great for dog walking The pub is very dog friendly with numerous water bowls and even treats

It was a lovely place but has gone downhill over the last few years with a much smaller menu, worse food and service. We visited recently and were told that the kitchen was closed at 8.45, during school holidays, there was plenty of people there but it wasn't so busy they had to stop taking orders.. it might just be...

I am wondering whether this picturesque and quaint hotel/restaurant situated in an ideal spot overlooking the sea, is another establishment that has become a victim of its own success. The downside of popularity is that you stop trying. This seems to be the case here. We arrived at 7 pm on the evening following the Easter break. The restaurant seemed...

Great location, lovely pub. We made a 10 mile round walk but wish we hadn't bothered with the food. The chips were thin, soggy and cold; they were a poor effort at fries. Not what you'd expect with fish. Next time we would eat once home.

Very poor experience, young inexperienced serving staff trying their best. Rubbish chef that can not cook vegetarian food or steaks! £15 for a poor over cooked piece of meat! Cheesy garlic bread that had the cheese burnt off it, a prawn cocktail that was served as fish cakes. If the bill was not £75 it would be funny. Another place...

My husband and I usually set off on a weekend break to Bournemouth - habit really, so we decided to go somewhere else, we chose The Smugglers after reading trip advisor. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and sat in the pub garden for a drink then went for a small walk before we...

We ordered a meal for a family of four. My son wanted a starter and this came out very quickly, expensive for what is was more butter than pate on the plate. We were told by the waitress to let her know when he had finished his started so the mains could come out which I found unusual. My son's...

We went here for an evening meal a few days ago and were really disappointed. I don't know what was going on, but the staff seemed totally dis-organised. Our starters were simply the bread board, but it took nearly 40 minutes to arrive and then only after we asked the staff. Our mains took over an hour after us placing...

After spending a long morning walking along the clifftops from Weymouth I found myself at the Smuggler's Inn. The first thing you notice are the immaculate gardens. There is plenty of outside space although surprisingly there is no view to speak of; the sea is not visible from the garden and as the pub is in a dip you can't...

Went for the first time today booked table for 4pm. Arrived at 3.45pm served by a very polite and helpful young man at the bar. Although only pork was left for the roast I was pleased they had roast left at this time (fair warning when it's gone it's gone!). Food was enjoyable but with pork would have been nice...
