We paid a reasonable amount to stay at this 3*? hotel b&b for two nights midweek in early April. We had stayed here many years ago when it was called the Portland Heights and was looking forward to our return.. Our experience was mixed. GOOD: Staff: very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast. Dinner (but expensive and in 'Bistro' type surroundings -...

Thank you for your valued comments, we appreciate your feedback. Whilst we are pleased to have provided additional heating as per your requirements, we are sorry that we weren't made aware of the other issues during your stay. Having been informed, we would have been only too pleased to offer an alternative room if needed. However, we're pleased that your...

I left it late to book a hotel and really struggled to find one that suited me. I found this one and the review looked good but mixed. The result of this late booking is that we have found a little gem of a hotel. In parts the decor is a little dated and it is not the prettiest of...

Booked for a family Sunday lunch, first impressions were very good but all went a bit downhill. We were seated and told someone would take our drinks order but waited ages and went to the bar in the end. All had carvery which was ok but the chef hacked away at the meat so ended up with chunks and scrappy...

Thank you for your comments, we would like to respond to your points. Whilst we were incredibly busy on Easter Sunday, we are sorry you found cause to mention the lack of service, which is definitely not a reflection of our usual standard. Having had this brought to our attention at the time of dining, we would have been able...

The hotel sits high up on the Isle. Great views from the bar and restaurant, but not necessarily from bedrooms. Pay a bit extra for a deluxe room - worth it. Breakfasts are buffet style and very nice. A good base for walking around the isle.

Spent a week in this lovely hotel. The view in the morning over Weymouth harbour is one of the best in Dorset. The buffet breakfast on top of this was perfect. Staff feel friendly, helpful and another of its best features. Recommend. ... Easy to access by car, by foot there seemed to be a pretty regular bus service that...

Great location, good rooms and good food. We used the hotel as a base while we walked around Portland Island. The staff were all very friendly and helpful too. Recommend the breakfast selection, lots to choose from

My partner and I stayed 2 nights at The Heights. To start with the positive, the staff were very friendly especially the ladies in the restaurant. The breakfast was plentiful and the buffet was all fresh and hot. Delicious! BUT, the room was like entering a time warp. Lots of brown wood with blue and yellow curtains that don't block...

Thank you for your comments, we appreciate your feedback. Whilst our hotel was constructed some time ago, we have kept all our facilities up to date. We're sorry you felt unable to cozy up. Whilst it is common in many hotels for rooms to be capable of being configured into either doubles or twins, we are pleased that you had...

I was the Guest Speaker at a local Probus meeting and lunch. I was efficiently welcomed and shown to the meeting room. The maintenance staff had prepared the facilities perfectly for the occasion. I had coffee with the organiser and the bar staff were efficient and friendly.Loos and the rest of the building were spotless and decorated nicely. After the...

Took a two day break at short notice. We found the location and views really nice, to sit and have dinner or a drink and look out over the sea and beach was very relaxing. We had a small double room, ok for a few nights but if staying longer would probably have been better upgrading to a larger room...

As other say the staff are helpful, the hotel is very clean, the rooms are lovely and warm, the food is amazing and all you could want for breakfast, and group rates are good (but maybe not rack rates). Although my bedroom on the ground floor had a dull view over the car park which rose up outside it from...
