Had an unplanned last minute night away. Struck by the warmth of welcome and fab hospitality from all staff members, delicious menu, local beers and cider at the bar (which also has a gin menu). A good night with plenty of hot water for the bath, and super breakfast too.

I loved this spacious and well planned pub/restaurant. There was a very good and easily understood menu and daily specials board. And additional out side covered non smoking dining area. Full marks from me. Alan Watkins Sponsored walker covering 3000 miles.

I stayed at the Ship Inn for just one night prior to a midweek meeting nearby. The hotel and restaurant oozes character and the management and staff could not be more helpful. If you are looking for a large, modern and pristine hotel then the Ship Inn isn't for you. However, if you want a warm, friendly, traditional place to...

This is the best pub in Dorset if you like great food and great choices, local produce and the prices are good, lovely choices of wines and beers, very clean and all the staff are friendly and well trained. Great for a special meal or popping in for a pub lunch.

We visited here (for the first time) for Sunday lunch. There is limited parking outside the pub, with the main car parking across the road - The speed limit is 30mph, but when leaving the pub, a car came around the corner as we were crossing the road and was clearly exceeding this! The pub is a lovely old building...

A first visit to this pretty country pub/ restaurant on Good Friday. A large choice on the menu . I had the sea bass which was very enjoyable. Other guests had traditional Fish & Chips which I understand was excellent. We had to wait a while for our food but I believe it assured us that all was cooked freshly....

A lovely looking pub both from the outside and inside with a lovely real fire burning on a cold day and the couple running the place were lovely. It was clean, well laid out and the service was good but the food was ordinary and lacked flavour. We had been excited over the choice on the menu so the disappointment...

Found this place via Trip Advisor as it was convenient to where we were going but were thrilled with the result! Varied menu, great food, host could not have been more helpful and the building had been improved to a very good standard. Nice to have locals in the bar and a good fire (it was really cold outside).

Visited The Ship for lunch on many occasions with my in-laws, Jean and Monte, and have never been disappointed. The food has always been excellent, with a varied menu, great real ales and very friendly service. Love it!!

Arranged for a large party to go for Sunday lunch and it was so very good that four of us went back Monday evening. Lovely restaurant, friendly staff, a great menu and a good range of beers and wines. Everything that you could wish for. If you are in the area just go there, and enjoy it.
