Just had a 3 night stay here with my husband. It was our first visit and we were very impressed. We stayed in a lovely ensuite room, which was very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. Jim and Dawn use local produce and it shows as the breakfasts are delicious. They provide lots of information about local activities and particularly the fossils...

Check in smooth. Family suite room 7 perfect for our requirements - 1x small double room and 1x twin room with single and double bed. Bathroom ample with small bathtub and essential mini toiletries. Loved the towels - didn't skimp on quantity as some B & B's tend to do. The only thing missing from the room is a full...

A great place to stay if you are considering visiting Charmouth and the surrounding area. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the beach - great if you have children. Upon arrival, there was a hassle free check-in, a very clean bedroom and lovely bathroom. Whilst we were staying there, there was very little noise and we all...

Thank you for your kind review. It is great to hear that you enjoyed your stay and our efforts to pay particular attention to the smaller details are worthwhile. We are indeed popular with families and have 2 x two bedroom family suites in their own wing. Because the cancellation rate from certain large .COM booking sitesis over 32% (e.g....

We stayed for 4 nights earlier this week in Room 1. The room was very comfortable, well equipped and was very light and airy. A lovely breakfast served with a smile and we found the hosts to be extremely warm and welcoming. Thanks Jim for the advice on the fossil hunting, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back. Charmouth...

It is great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and the advice we were able to offer. As you say West Dorset is a very beautiful part of the country and for many a much shorter journey than the far reaches of Cornwall. Lyme Regis and Charmouth were even awarded the only UK entry in National Geographic's...

This is a lovely relaxing B&B, and the owners were really welcoming and helpful. They also know plenty about fossil hunting! The room was comfortable and warm despite very cold weather. Brilliant location for exploring the coast nearby.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Hensleigh House despite some chilly weather. However, the fossil hunting is always better in winter and early spring so hopefully it was worthwhile! We hope to see you again soon. Kind Regards Dawn & Jim

We stayed in this comfortable B&B for 3 nights in double room no. 1. Hosts Dawn and Jim were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, particularly for beginner fossil hunters. A short walk along the beach in either direction leads you prime fossil hunting areas. Breakfast was plentiful, freshly cooked and included an option for delicious kippers. The room was very...

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review - we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and found our new fossil hunting guide useful. We plan to also write some more guides to local walks in the near future. The kippers are of course locally smoked and very different from the supermarket variety so are often...

Stayed 2 nights last week and booked the apartment with two bedrooms, 2 doubles and a single. Rooms immaculate, beds very comfortable, friendly staff and very high standard of breakfasts. Boiled eggs were perfectly cooked, kippers were reported to be delicious but if you have a big appetite, have the full english, it's amazing!!! Don't hesitate, book it!

What can we say? Fantastic comments for which we are extremely grateful, but of course most of all we are really happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our two bedroom family suites and larger rooms are very popular with families and small groups of friends, and to keep the best value are only available for direct...

We stayed for two nights in Rm 4. This room had pleasant views to the hills in the east. It was "cosy" as described elsewhere. But the quality of sleep is superb! A really good base for the beach and the village centre. Nice to have tea and coffee making facilities and extra milk is cheerfully dispensed via a flask...

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. To clarify for anyone reading this, 'Room 4' is the room that appears on all the booking sites as our 'Small Double', and is priced lower than our other rooms. For a full choice of all our rooms, including the two bedroom family suites, do book direct as not all...

Hensleigh House proved to be the perfect break for us.. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable (I wanted to take the bed home!) There was excellent choice at breakfast and all the food was cooked/prepared to our taste. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and extremely professional. Sadly, on the night before leaving, I lost a treasured necklace...

It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and that the issue that may have spoiled it was resolved by the amazing honesty and kindness of the good people of Lyme Regis. It is sometimes the little things that make all the difference! We do hope that you will come back and see us again during 2017. Kind Regards...
