Bridge House came up on a Travel Zoo deal, looked good so we thought we would give it a try. Friendly welcome and pleasant reception rooms for a pre dinner drink. The main dining rooms was occupied with a wedding party so we ate in the conservatory - bit chilly and not quite as inviting as the main dining but...

Arriving with a disabled friend for a 3 night stay, within 5 minutes I had stupidly locked myself out of my room. Escorted to the sitting room for some welcome tea, we were amazed to see the chef through the window, climbing a ladder, to access my room via the window, to deal with the problem! A great start to...

Three of us arrived the night before Christmas Eve, my husband, dog Tilly and me. Christine was on duty at reception and she couldn't have been more helpful. Harry, the manager, was the same. Nothing was too much for either of them and we were all made so very welcome, particularly Tilly. Our room (we were fortunate to have taken...

I booked with my brother and my partner, specifically looking for a short break where I could take my 7 month old puppy. We were told the hotel was dog friendly, and that we would be able to eat with the dog in the bar area or conservatory (but not the main restaurant). They even left two dog biscuits in...

Dear Leveller99, Thank you for your feedback. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your food and our wine list. Being a country hotel, albeit in town, we do very much welcome dogs and their owners. Getting the balance right can be difficult as not all our customers are dog lovers and have equal right to be dog...

As a gift from our family we enjoyed a celebratory tea today at The Bridge House Hotel. This was indeed a lovely experience and all the food was wonderful. The lady who served us tea was from New Zealand and certainly gave us excellent service which we appreciated. Thank you so much.

My husband and I have just returned to this hotel for one night using a Travelzoo voucher. We were upgraded to a very nice spacious room with a very comfortable bed and pillows. We were given tea and small mince pies on arrival and later enjoyed a delicious dinner. The menu had plenty of choices and every course was good....

This is a wonderful place to stay. From the moment of entry until our departure everything, the room, the bed, the food, was perfect. Management and staff were so warm and welcoming. My dog was a happy guest too. They set up our table in the delightful warm conservatory so that my dog would not disturb other diners. So very...
